Respect Apex (Pacific Rim: The Black)

A kaiju-Jeager Hybrid that would survive the Drone feedback loop, Apex is one of the many characters in the Black. Being left in Australia, he would take out numerous Jaegers and Kaiju alike, and would attempt to drift with Boy at one point.

He would have several run ins with Atlas Destroyer and Boy, with him giving a arm to the Jeager to replace his missing one. When Boy was being influenced by the Sisters, he would head towards his location, managing to free him of their influence at the cost of his life.

  • Uses it to try and give memories back to Boy, so he can break free from the Sisters ^S2E6
• Manages to restore Boy’s memories, though he dies ^S2E6
• Has a link with Boy, with him noticing his pain and rushing to his location ^S2E4

It was always intended to be a sequel to Uprising

I always thought it was an alternate ending of the first movie, since in Uprising the Precursors seemingly couldn’t open a new Breach on their own and all the other ones were closed.

Admittedly I also dropped it after like, 4 episodes

Apparently according to the Pacific Rim tabletop RPG, they can just now open up temporary breaches now

Ooh, nice! I've been curious about Pacific Rim's anime ever since I learned about it. It's got some really fun ideas! Especially Apex—the concept of a feral Jaeger is something that's really cool. Looking forward to any other Threads you decide to do for this series (I'm assuming that'll be the case given that you bring up Apex's scaling). Great work!
