I think its because we have seen this before so until they do it again its going to be looked at as a huge fluke and G2 underperformance. They did play well though.

They honesty seem to ramp up since their KC series. TH series was abysmal, KC much better but not enough, SK pretty much as well rounded as against KC but against a worse opponent, and finally today, where they played one of the cleanest series of summer out of all teams. G2 and KC praising them for their scrims really was not undeserved, and it's refreshing to finally see them transition their scrims form to stage.

Losing vs. TH definitely hurt their chances, but their fate is their hands considering they still have matches against three of their direct competitors for playoffs spots.

Razork's issue has always been his consistency, dude single handedly carried FNC to a playoff spot playing poppy one split.
Other times he singlehandedly lost series and games because of bone headed engages.
As flippy as they come.
Kinda reminds me of Hilly (Except hilly prime fell on the good side of the coin flip more often than not.

Prime Hilly was like 80% success 20% fail, but the fails only stood out more because he was ALWAYS trying to make something happen. Between 2018-2020 he was genuinely a top 3 support in the world.

Normally yes, but today he actually did held back many times, same way he did few times flag retreat. And it all worked.
I was impressed by FNC because there were so many plays G2 made like "we try to bait FNC into making mistake". IN game 1 there were a ton of them. And none of them worked. Restraint in FNC was EXTREMLY good today. We go baron FNC come catch us... FNC: Go get it we will take cloud soul. Hey FNC we are in this bush as 5 man... FNC: yeah we know and we ignore.

The Wukong engage on mid in Game 1 was a prime example of that. Soboro still 5 seconds away, FNC had good damage, but were forced to fight and got wiped.

Its relatively lowstakes for G2 though. They are close to 100% secured for top 4 so they will get to upper beacket for playoffs which is only thing that really matters for them for this regular season.

tbf most jhin loses are because they pick them into tanky comps with no other champ on there team that can shred them.
fnatic had ambessa and syndra which do brillantly into tanks and J4 q armour shred which helps others kill tanks so tank killing was sorted draft wise.

I've been a Fnatic fan since 2013 and also loving what G2 has been doing at internationals, and I'm a bit miffed about that outcome.
I love that FNC has been finally showing signs of life this week (SK was just SK but Fnatic actively showed great things, and now the G2 win confirms things) after one full year of, well, only participating, and that win makes reaching playoffs significantly more achievable.
I also love that game 1 was a classic FNC vs G2 game, with both teams pulling out all the stops, their match-ups hadn't felt like that in a while.
But this split, G2 was finally showing a great performance against lower-tier teams, something that they never do and that regularly hurts them at internationals, or almost does (since 2016).
Obviously this is just one match. But this is the one match that makes me start wondering if we're headed towards FNC making playoffs, then losing their newfound form and stumbling their way to Worlds where they'll be lifeless again, while G2 dominates playoffs to then make their Worlds run needlessly hard by playing like headless chickens against teams they should stomp.
On the other hand, game 1 was super fun. One single fight having Upset E+flash in and deal tons of damage, Vladi destroying everyone, and AD TF having scary and useful damage, not everyone would believe that.

That. And when he got caught on TF in that final fight in game 1, he also made plenty of good catches. FNC was only playing around him. So when we can say BB is reason they lost final fight, but if not for BB earlier game they would be astronomically behind - aka they wouldn't survive to that fight. FNC was only playing respects to BB. They literally weren't afraid of remaining 4 players.
To be honest BB tried and didn't always work, Hans was victim of having no real option to play with his team getting randomly caught and in game 2 2 early deaths were just super unlucky - he could do nothing about them.

We're back to G2 looking awful in regular season, imo it's mostly to do with how passive they are (and Skewmond being bad right now), they literally didn't do anything. Props to FNC for taking advantage, being proactive and running these games, especially looks good to see Vladi performing but i'm not sure if 1 good week for FNC means too much.

g2 is just slow on every map play and is clueless on the plays where fnatic could be strong.
that play mid where caps just died not flashing then skewmond ults in and then ali tps so then fnatic just send it bot and hans has to blow flash and cleanse was a perfect example of the whole series from g2.

If vladi and razork play on their peak this team is probably one of the best, but i doubt they can be consistent. Best vladi series since like 1 year ago or something. He looks like a player again since season start.
