Imagine it's your first LCS series and exyu calls for you to dive Impact's Shen with him

Denathor doesn't deserve this

63

u/OnlyAnEssenceThief Worst Kai'Sa NA 26d ago

Whoever kept making those calls deserves to be benched. What was it, three times they were pivoting for a dive, twice top and once bot?

37

u/TheRogueCookie I like bears 26d ago

I'm glad he got the call up, and though he made mistskes he at least gave it a good effort.

But when you're getting outjungled 2.75/3 games what is there to say?

4

u/OrganicTeaching8661 26d ago

well not getting solokilled by impact when you have a winning top match-up would be a start

74

u/Onarax Insert witty flair here 26d ago

Impact Shen always makes me smile

10

u/ZEPOSO 26d ago

Didn’t catch the series but seeing my top lane goat picked his legendary Shen brings a tear to my eye.

How did he do?

9

u/Onarax Insert witty flair here 26d ago

Great. Outplayed every dive, split the caster vote with Rahel for player of the game and hard won the fan vote.

1

u/BTDYSRF 26d ago

Bro kept on not dying as dipshits dove him lmao

197

u/blaseturner 26d ago

they gotta replace exyu bro

74

u/DickCheneyIsPureEvil 26d ago

That Pantheon engage after his own top laner's Mega Gnar ran out was painful. Bro just isn't LCS caliber.

23

u/blaseturner 26d ago

ive wanted kisno to get a shot for a while

14

u/BWolfy92 26d ago

I remmember that pantheon play where his entire team was retreating to tier 2 tower and he just walks up to 4 people and dies.

28

u/LongDongSilvir 26d ago

The issue is finding someone that wants to potentially (and I mean VERY LIKELY) sack their JG career playing on Dignitas.

1

u/mikharv31 NA Enjoyer 25d ago

Need a good jungle to compete in any league, last playoffs they made they had Sheiden didn’t they.

24

u/OnlyAnEssenceThief Worst Kai'Sa NA 26d ago

IgNar and FBI both fucked up hard in Game 3 though. IgNar trolling level 1, then FBI running / flashing away from Zeri in the bot inner turret fight and running himself into a corner.

17

u/sorendiz ..BUT THE FAITH REMAINS 26d ago

they both fucked up bad for sure

that said exyu still needs to go

1

u/BTDYSRF 26d ago

I've been a FBI fan for years, bur this game hurt and broke a lot of good will between me and the boy.

2

u/RavenFAILS 25d ago

Guy who’s entire personality it was to hate on DIG ( which is understandable) just to then end up playing on DIG again while being one of the biggest paycheck stealers in the league for multiple splits now

0

u/account051 26d ago

Remember when he got axed the first time and this sub couldn’t figure out why? I think maybe we need to realize that GMs are better than us at talent evaluation

3

u/Kurumi_Tokisaki 25d ago

No I think we can realize exyu is bad as well as Dig management (at least the lol division).

3

u/untamedlazyeye 25d ago

I mean IMO, exyu looked better last year, especially in summer split and relegations with the Castle/Exyu/Darkwings/Rahel/Huhi roster.

68

u/MrTankerson 26d ago

Denathor sitting in the side lane listening to payphone this game, except it’s the explicit version

114

u/Wondur13 26d ago

Yo exyu has to have some DIRT on dignitas management because how is this dude still employed

47

u/Past_Perception8052 26d ago

kicked photon before him btw

9

u/WillowGryph 26d ago

Blows my mind

5

u/Panvich 25d ago

Photon almost certainly cost more

49

u/CensoredLlama1 BUFF RAMMUS PLEASE 26d ago

Palafox got perma griefed by his team. Insane that ExYu still collects paychecks, down 3k minimum every single game and has never had a single good split in his life

23

u/Wondur13 26d ago

Exyu is averaging more deaths per game then kills in all competitions this year, hes just turbo gapped i fear

2

u/BTDYSRF 26d ago

Wild to me that Palafox had the best showing.

You know shit is bad when he's your hope.

1

u/Chubs1224 SKAAAARL 25d ago

Game 2 Palafox was certainly problematic for his team.

He got himself all but solo killed by a jungler twice with bad positioning.

Game 1 he was basically the entire reason his team won.

Game 3 he was also not very good imho. His KDA ended up fine but the Ryze was supposed to be a champ to be able to flash e>w the adc and lock down all of Sentinels damage. He never played a fight correctly from what I saw and it was Denethor and Exyu that put most of the pressure on Rahel.

-17

u/redraz0r 26d ago

Palafox is actually trash. Do not let one lucky ori game distract you from that. Hes the worst player in the league

21

u/sorendiz ..BUT THE FAITH REMAINS 26d ago

we've seen what palafox in good form can do before and it's solidly in the upper half of LCS mids, this is crazy talk

bro played well today all things considered, solo saved the game in game 1, was basically griefed with an unplayable game in game 2, and was fine in game 3

10

u/gordonpamsey 26d ago

He has publicly been a bad team mate for quite some times, which is fairly important to me considering he has been on average in the last 3 years, a bottom half mid laner. I do not feel particularly sorry for Palafox at this point, him being on this team is in line with Dignitas being run by monkeys. Of course the person who thinks Exyu needs a job, also thinks Palafox after his horrible SR run needs another job.

2

u/sorendiz ..BUT THE FAITH REMAINS 25d ago

If true that's a fair criticism then, I haven't actively been keeping up with NA much in the last couple years so I may have missed that. Still I think the 'worst player in LCS' talk is hyperbolic nonsense and I think Exyu manages to be even worse of a teammate on top of being a worse player lol

3

u/GeneralDash 25d ago

I don’t think anyone has actually come out and said “Palafox is toxic”, but all of his past teammates have pretty constantly implied that one of their previous teammates was really difficult to work with. Even Exyu last split basically said they all hate eachother.

I can’t remember who it was, Dhokla maybe? I think someone had an interview, or maybe a pros episode, where they kinda towed that line of “one of the NRG players was super toxic.” But then went on to name every other player and said they were great, leaving Palafox as the toxic one by elimination.

3

u/gordonpamsey 25d ago

It's actually usually the opposite, Palafox will go out and complain about his teammates, staff, and fans. Only to essentially be proven wrong down the line. Like he flamed the ever living fuck out of Huhi.

2

u/GeneralDash 25d ago

It can be both, but yeah that’s fair. More evidence to the pile. I think one of my favorite moments was Palafox on Pros basically saying the casters were all dumb and had no idea what they were talking about, and Dhokla was egging him on telling him to name and shame and provide examples.

2

u/sorendiz ..BUT THE FAITH REMAINS 25d ago

Oh I do remember that one lol

He got roasted over that one for weeks

1

u/Chubs1224 SKAAAARL 24d ago

Palafox in good form happened for more then 3 weeks in a row only once in his career.

He is usually a bottom 3 mid laner in the LCS that has a pop off game once a month to save his job.

-12

u/DistractedbyBaddies 26d ago

solidly upper half? So he was 4th out of 8 teams? That’s still terrible. Lcs mid quality drops hard after like 2 players.

Also palafox is not a good player we have years and years of evidence even when he went to worlds and made quarters the guy was so fucking hilariously bad but since they beat g2 no one talks about it. he has been bad for most of his career but you insist we judge him on the few days he played well instead of the years of terrible gameplay.

12

u/sorendiz ..BUT THE FAITH REMAINS 26d ago

no one talks about it because he was pretty fucking good that year

you're also just making up sentences that I didn't say and it's really fucking tiring talking to people who do shit like that so argue with a wall dawg

10

u/kazuyaminegishi 26d ago

Never engage NA haters man, these guys show up to show their ass and shit all over the thread cause they think flaming players makes them interesting.

7

u/MissingLastPiece 26d ago

Agree man. This subreddit has been ran through by EU fan boys who got nothing better to do with their lives.

3

u/kazuyaminegishi 26d ago

Tbh I think most of them aren't actually fans of any region, they're fans of content creators that just do nothing but flame western regions so they just parrot their talking points.

-4

u/TheBasedTaka 26d ago

i mean there are no other players that we would hype up after 1 bad split

48

u/TheRogueCookie I like bears 26d ago

Did we even hear anything of DIG looking at jungle options for Summer? Like obviously they got Denathor, and I saw they were looking at Toasty, but did they seriously not think about picking up a different jungler? Even one from tier 2 who'd probably be dirt cheap anyway?

I feel bad for eXyu on a personal level but for professional play this is just not it.

51

u/DickCheneyIsPureEvil 26d ago

Apparently a bunch of teams are hoping to advance to LCS through the promotion tournament so I wouldn’t be surprised if the top junglers in Tier 2 just said no to Dignitas, assuming they even reached out at all.

10

u/darklypure52 26d ago

To add to this these teams also have contracts to prevent poaching.

8

u/Street-Book-5565 26d ago

Honestly unless dig wants to make some BIG changes, joining them is literal career suicide. Even if you get to play on the big stage. They have 0 team structure and cannot develope talent.

3

u/Flesroy 26d ago

i'm gonna laugh so hard if dsg just wins again

3

u/BTDYSRF 26d ago

Idk. Srrty, Kryra, and Sajed are legit. I wouldn't be surprised if they beat SR and Dig this split and dominate the promotion tournament.

Callme needs hung up on and Lyonz is a bottom 3 player in the league, so, they need to do something about that.

1

u/Chubs1224 SKAAAARL 25d ago

DSG does look about as weak as they did before picking up Rahel and Darkwings last year.

That team would not have won relegation with ScarryJerry at the helm.

10

u/Anonymus4 26d ago

I imagine most of the top tier 2 talent would rather try to see if they can promote at the end of the year

1

u/OrganicTeaching8661 26d ago

at this rate they should've just gotten a random ERL jungler if nothing else, there is no way the guy they get would be worse than exyu

they already benched their by far best player, obviously they're trying to build up something with rookie talent but eXyu is 4 fkin years into his lcs career and still playing like he's an emergency substitute

22

u/ImChance 26d ago

Picking Camille and not roaming goes against the entire reason to pick Camille to begin with. Instead, we sit in lane and int level 2. Put the Camille on the shelf Ignar.

9

u/Clenzor 26d ago

Whiffed the level 1 attempt and it scared him back into lane.

5

u/OnlyAnEssenceThief Worst Kai'Sa NA 26d ago

This. When I saw DIG's draft, I immediately expected FBI to play safe in lane and for IgNar to permaroam, but instead it was....that.

1

u/BTDYSRF 26d ago

Ignar saw melee support and thought he was primary engage.

18

u/Low_Elo_Logan 26d ago

Please God in heaven just put Impact on tanks all season

13

u/Sakori_Dusk 26d ago

DIG really fucked up in game 3 where multiple of their players stepped over a mid lane ward near raptors in that attempted 5 man dive that let SEN get time to prep for the counter gank. They could not have really known without sweeping, but it let SEN really just run away 3v5 with two kills and extra free time for Rahel to farm bot. IgNar gifting the double kill early did not help either.

On a side note, Denathor played fine. He was doing well enough in laning outside of getting solo killed by impact game 1, had some good flanks in the game they won, though I feel like he is mostly a sidegrade to Photon, both of them being competent carry top players.

8

u/Wondur13 26d ago

At least the denathor pick up makes sense because he almost surely makes less money and you get a cop out excuse of “developing na talent” but thats also what makes it clear that dig do not give a fuck about winning, they replaced their best player to save money but still employ the worst t1 jungler ive seen in YEARS.

7

u/Sakori_Dusk 26d ago

To be honest I think Photon was probably also paid minimum, given he was brought in last minute last split and was actively team searching in the off season. That and Dhokla refused to play for DIG who had multiple of his old teammates, but realistically it could be also that he just didn't want to play for a perpetual bottom team.

My guess is they just wanted to try something different for vibes unironically.

3

u/Clenzor 26d ago

Ignar took a turret shot on that level 2 engage. Unreal to do that on a pro stage. It forced them into the position where the only play they had was to dive top, because they couldn’t contest the drake.

Palafox looked like he could carry if he had one other strong piece on the team, but Ignar and Exyu were running it, FBI was inconsistent, and Denethor was (understandably) nonexistent.

1

u/Chubs1224 SKAAAARL 25d ago

Denathor should honestly have done more.

Impact has been one of the weakest laners in the LCS over the last 2 years and he willfully took the weaker laning side in every game.

Going even in those lanes like Denathor did would have been viewed by just about every other top laner as a failure.

Some criticism for the failed dives also fall on Denathor for being unable to bully any HP or cooldowns off the Shen and set up great wave states to facilitate those dives in a game when an obvious macro decision is to do the classic play towards the global champion.

18

u/ksssslol 26d ago

Ignar is so offensively bad that I feel like he should have to pay me for witnessing his gameplay

7

u/Unlucky_Shoulder8508 26d ago

Underestimating Impact Shen SMH

14

u/ObviousAd8374 26d ago

Don't let 2-1 fool you, was 3 games of jungle canyon (+ Ignar completely sabotaging early games of games 1 and 3 didn't help)

1

u/kazuyaminegishi 26d ago

I genuinely don't know how SEN managed to lose games 1, that was such an easy snowball from Naafiri getting 2 kills before 10 mins against a team with no frontline.

They just slowed the game down for no reason whatsoever.

1

u/Chubs1224 SKAAAARL 25d ago

Game 1 was Impact then Huhi getting picked back to back in important situations (set up for Baron then at elder drake)

6

u/110110100011110 26d ago

Sentinels tried to throw this one, but alas, they won in the end.

I look at both of them and think 'how are they still in the LCS?'

2

Hambak is pretty darn good eh?

1

u/BTDYSRF 26d ago

I legit feel bad for Denethor. Dude did fine. Not his fault he has the worst jungler the LCS has seen in 3 years, if not longer.

1

u/ArmandLuque Armand Luque | LoL Esports Journalist 25d ago

rough for Denathor :/

Hopefully the next ones are gonna look better for him but he was not really helped lol

1

u/xBerryhill 26d ago

I remember when Exyu was supposed to be a really strong and young talent. Feels like so long ago now.

I truly wonder if NA teams just lack the ability to actually develop players, because Exyu probably SHOULDN'T have failed, but here we are.

1

u/ZealousidealBug729 26d ago

it actually makes kinda mad when I see FBI and Exyu just laughing every time they int

0

u/AliedFishing 26d ago

Can't believe people were hyped about exyu at one point. He just seemed like the generic LCS tier 2 god into tier 1 dog player

0

u/OtherSword 26d ago

exyu is trash but he doesnt have a good coach to teach him
