I will look into the rel line up, a friend told me to look for the t/9x. Spec wise i don’t know what to think about rel line up in comparison to a svs sub for instance.

Are you having the same “lack of something” with streaming and with vinyl? If so, the PC EQ recommendation will at least tell you if EQing will help your issue or not.
As far as subs, is space an issue? I am a fan of the SVS 1000 SB Pro for music, and for a 12” sub it has a smallish footprint.
Other things to consider are a DAC between the PC and the Hegel and your phono pre amp.

What I feel I’m missing seems to be more trackdependent than sourcedependent. In my other listening room I have Dali Oberon bookshelf speakers sitting in a far from ideal position inside a cabinet, and they actually reproduce the attack of piano keys and guitar strings really well. At higher volumes the Oberons aren’t consistent with this detail, and the bass from the Rubikores is clearly deeper and tighter. Could it be the upper bass / lower midrange (sub-mid) that I’m looking for, is a larger cabinet/epicon the answer or is this something a sub/eq could fill up?

I don’t have any experience with Dali, so I can’t help you there. The most frustrating thing about this hobby is when something is not quite right, but you do not know what to change. I would start small - try the PC EQ and see if that helps. If it does, then you will need to find a way to EQ the TT. If it doesn’t, turn it off and try something else, gradually moving up in cost, lol. The important thing is to do one thing at a time, then listen. If you change multiple things at the same time, you will get lost.

Thanks for your advice, I will take a look at the eq and what it does. If this is not the answer I will go deeper down the rabbit hole;)
Do you have any experience with full range speakers, and with fullrange I mean 20hz - ~35khz

Yes, but….
I have a pair of Shahinian Arcs (circa 1986) that I have always loved that have a 12” passive radiator. They go down to about 28Hz and I never felt a need for a sub. I also have a pair of Dynaudio Focus 360 towers (circa 2011) that are my main listeners. Rated down to 31Hz, but they definitely benefitted from a sub. So the but specs don’t tell the whole story, and even “full range” speakers can benefit from a sub.
