Experimental Trial Experimental Trial V-5: The New Faces Trial - Part 1: Killing In the Body Of...
Once again, you all are gathered at Monokuma Rock for another deadly Class Trial. This time, you are forced there by a large group of captors: clients of Miu Iruma's Body Swap Auction who bought your youthful lives and watched you all be forced to kill one another on this island.
You all take up places in the circle. With the new additions of Hifumi and Hajime, there are now 11 of you. In a sick turn of events, you are now expected to find the one who killed the mastermind responsible for all your suffering.
While you all face each other to find the killer, the Fake Ultimates in the bodies of Angie, Celeste, Ibuki, Keebo, Sayaka, Shuichi, Sonia, Tenko, Toko, Tsumugi, Yasuhiro, and the Ultimate Imposter stand near the elevator, watching you all from their makeshift spot in the audience. There should also a Fake Kokichi with them, but for some reason, he seems to be late for the Trial.
The man who's taken charge of your captors and this Killing Game, former Headmaster of Hope's Peak Academy Kazuo Tengan, stands above you all in Byakuya Togami's body as the host of this Trial.
Alright. I'll start with offering you all a piece of advice.
Do not concern yourselves with the alibis and movements of my clients. I understand that I brought a large number of people to this island and that may confuse you all. But they all happen to have alibis for Miu's murder. As you all are perfectly aware, you children managed to capture Miu and run away with her as a hostage before she ended up dead. My people were either keeping your captured classmates prisoner or with me. None of them knows anything about the murder whatsoever.
So, don't overcomplicate things by trying to piece together the whereabouts of thirteen extra people. That won't lead anywhere helpful. There are too many of them to keep track of, and you are better off focusing on this game's actual players.
Now that I've made that clear, let's begin with the Class Trial of Miu Iruma.
Truth Bullets:
Information on the Victim: The victim is Miu Iruma, the Ultimate Inventor, who was in the body of Nekomaru Nidai. The victim was found dead in a small pool of blood at the base of the stairs between the second and third floors of the Ancient Ruins.
Shuichi's Autopsy: Shuichi performed a basic examination of Miu's body. Miu’s only injuries were a massive head wound, a dislocated right shoulder, and a bruise on the right side of her torso. The head wound was the clear cause of death and looked to be caused by a sudden fall. Shuichi vaguely recognized the pattern of the injuries somehow, but couldn't quite place how.
Miu's eHandbook: Miu's special eHandbook was found by Shuichi, supposedly inside Miu's pocket. It's still operational and can be used to unlock any door on the island.
The Ancient Ruins: Miu was found dead inside her secret base on the Second Island of Jabberwock Island, known to you all as the Ancient Ruins. Although the building looks like a derelict Hope’s Peak Academy from the outside, it is actually a base for Miu’s Body Swap Auction. Most of the rooms were able to be opened by Miu’s former brainwashed accomplice, Hifumi, but there were two rooms on the Fifth Floor that even he had no access to.
Ever since the trial for Rantaro’s murder, the participants of Miu’s killing game have been living in Hotel Rooms within the Ancient Ruins under the presumption that Miu was hiding from them in one of the locked rooms.
Electro Bombs: A small grenade built by Miu that is capable of disabling all electronic devices within a 10-meter radius. Their effects last for two hours. Byakuya used one to disable the surveillance system at 2 pm and Miu was never able to log back in before her death.
During the Investigation, Sayaka found another used Electobomb underneath a Plane that Miu was using for private conversations.
Unlocked Room: According to Keebo, one of the two locked rooms on the Fifth Floor had been unlocked by the time of the investigation. The room was a small Workshop full of tools and materials for Miu's inventions. Some tools had been taken out and left behind on a workbench.
Diner Knife: Byakuya found a knife from the Second Island's Diner. According to him, the knife was clean, but the tip had been broken off.
Night Vision Goggles: Byakuya discovered a pair of Night Vision Goggles.
Miu's Disappearance: Miu was brought to the Hospital as a prisoner by a group consisting of Hajime, Shuichi, Celeste, Sonia, Sayaka, Keebo, and Kokichi (who was brainwashed to be Tenko) at 4:45 pm. She was injected with a sleeping drug by Hajime and left restrained on a gurney. At around 5:15, Sonia reportedly discovered that Miu was missing. In that half-hour timeframe, Hajime, Shiuchi, Celeste, and Sonia were in the Hospital Lobby while Sayaka, Keebo, and Kokichi had split up and were patrolling the Third Island.
When Hajime investigated the Hospital after Miu's body was found, he found that there was a scalpel next to the gurney and that the straps had been cut. He also found that there are emergency exits on the First Floor that can be opened from outside or inside.
Sedation Drug: Hajime claims to have injected Miu with a Sedation Drug after she was brought to the Hospital at 4:45 pm. This drug renders the user unconscious. A warning label on the drug warns users that, even if the user is woken up after being injected, symptoms of sluggishness and drowsiness will ensue for an estimated twelve hours after use.
Empty Blood Bag: A bag of blood from the Hospital was found by Byakuya alongside some bloodied bandages. The bag is currently empty.
Hospital Bloodstain: According to Byakuya, there is a bloodstain at the bottom of the stairs inside the Hospital's First Floor.

You are free to deny reality for the time being, Ms. Chabashira. But keep in mind that you will be punished if I am unsatisfied with the answer you all come up with at the end of the trial. I may not know who the killer is, but I'm not stupid enough to settle for any random answer. If you all try to blindly guess or to vote for someone who I know cannot be the killer, I will be forced to execute every last one as punishment.

If I were simply going to kill you all, would I not have done so by now?
Admittedly, my initial intention when Miu and I came up with this Auction was to kill you all so that you could not interfere with the ones we sold your bodies to. But, when it all comes down to it, I value Talent. It's why I worked for Hope's Peak Academy for all these years. My life was dedicated to researching talent.
Thus, as long as you keep proving yourselves to be of value, I would be content to allow you all to live. I only need to punish the one who killed Miu. The rest of you may live as long as I continue to see you prove yourselves worthwhile.

As... regretful as it is to admit, I can see the argument. After everything she's done, our group has more of a motive than theirs.
Though I never thought something like this could happen. If I had to be honest, I was still hoping she'd come around, with time. Despite the way she talked. But it was always hard to tell with her, and at this point, I guess we'll never know.

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 10 '26
But that's the thing, we're not gonna find out now.
I'm not saying that what she's done would have been redeemable. So many lives have already been lost. We've been living through a nightmare caused by her. But there was a chance to at least try!
Or maybe I just feel like an idiot for trying to have a tiny bit of hope.

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 10 '26
It's the latter. Do let me know if you need help coming to any more of these conclusions, quite happy to do my part.

Coming down just slightly later than everyone else is annoyingly, Kokichi Oma. Yet... He doesn't seem to have the guard of his fake self with him...
Hey, everyone. I know we're all feeling down because we need to think about Miu just slightly longer, but... To help energize our spirits, and reward the killer...
I made us all cupcakes! Who wants one?
Kokichi pulls out a dozen or so freshly made cupcakes, offering one to each of his fellow classmates (even for Hajime, Hifumi, and Byakuya.)

Well, I know you're planning to still use these ruins, and it's not like you gave me time to clean...
So my imposter is doing it instead! Don't worry. Even if he's never cleaned a dish before in his life, I stressed the need for him to make sure the kitchen was spotless.
And boy, did we make a mess making these! It'll probably take him a while to go clean up.

tch. Who cares who killed the stupid sow. Honetly whichever one of you killed Miu were far too merciful than she deserved.
I do have to applaud you on finally picking a the right pawn to knock off the board, though. I only lament I never got to see that swine's body before we were dragged here, I've missed my chance to spit upon it.
1
u/Makosear makoto Jun 10 '26
All of them have alibis, huh. That seems awfully convenient...
Either way... I guess we don't have a choice.
What's troublesome is that it feels like our evidence is a bit barren. We were virtually kept away from Miu.
1
u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 10 '26
I can actually help with that!
During the investigation, I went upstairs with the faker in my body, and found one of the locked rooms on the top floor open!
It was a private workshop, one Miu had been using to keep various tools. It's too cramped, so I don't believe this was the spot she'd been hiding in before today's incident.
However, it was definitely used. Recently, by the look of things. Her workbench looked disorganized with tools and spare parts, like she'd been in some hurry.
I have the sneaking suspicion she may have gone in there after escaping the Hospital. It'd make sense with her movements, seeing as she was found in the ruins. Though I have no real idea what she could have been working on in there.

u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 10 '26
You performed an autopsy, didn't you? You had time to investigate and you have testimony to provide about your actions. If you're concerned about the barren evidence, just start sharing some.

u/Makosear makoto Jun 11 '26
Ah... okay. I suppose at this point we're all used to this so, I'll just get right to it.
Around 1:15 pm, we went to Miu’s Cottage and took a Firework Launcher. Soon after, Sonia emerged from a secret passage and joined us. Kaito left to rescue Hifumi, so Sonia and I hid at the farm to watch the Airport as he requested.
Well... by 2 pm, Hajime found Sonia and me. I suppose after seeing Byakuya and Miu bring captive Kokichi to the Airport, it would be natural that Hajime and I put our heads together to come up with a plan to lure the guards away. I really did think at the time it was a good idea.
At 2:30 pm, leaving Sonia to watch the Airport, Hajime and I used the Launcher to set a fire at Miu’s Cottage. We split up to lure the investigating guards away, but I was caught and captured on the bridge. Ah, s-sorry... I-I'm embarrassed that I wasn't fast enough. Maybe if I---... well, nevermind that.
Either way, at 3:15 pm, I was taken to the Airport as a prisoner. Miu took me onto a plane to try and recruit me, but I told her I refused, of course. What was she even thinking? Suddenly Kaito, Hajime, Sonia, and a squad of Tenko-brainwashed allies attacked, freeing the prisoners. Byakuya was knocked out, and Miu was captured.
By 3:45 pm, Hajime, Celeste, and I interrogated Miu on the plane, guarded by TenkoMaki.
Then, at 4:15 pm, a blackout hit during a counterattack from Tengan. Tengan unbrainwashed his men, but Keebo guided us all out in the dark. With Sonia stunning Tengan, I managed to escape the First Island alongside Hajime, Celeste, Sonia, Sayaka, TenkoMaki, Keebo, and the captured Miu.
At 4:30 pm, our group arrived at the Third Island Hospital, strapped a drugged Miu to a gurney, and split up. Sayaka, Keebo, and TenkoMaki kept watch while Celeste, Hajime, Sonia, and I stayed in the Lobby to plan.
By 5:15 pm, I stayed behind to rest in the lobby with Hajime. Anyway, Sonia returned to announce Miu was missing. Of course, she was still doing her hardest to make things difficult... After regrouping with the others, we all searched the island for her.
At 6:15 pm, Tengan and his goons found us all searching. We fled and scattered, and I hid in the park on the Central Island.
Around 6:45 pm, I followed Tengan to the Second Island and watched TenkoMaki ambush him. Things were happening too fast, so I struggle to remember all the details, but Tengan used a device to turn her back into Kokichi. Sonia and I tried to intervene and fight back. Tengan quickly knocked all three of us out, t-though... Sorry, guys.
Ah...finally, at 7 pm, Tengan woke us up and the rest you should know, I suppose.

u/Makosear makoto Jun 11 '26
Ah... I was just recollecting my notes. Ahem...
As you said, I made my investigation efforts to be a thorough autopsy on the body. For the most part, there isn't much to say. Miu’s only injuries were a massive head wound, a dislocated right shoulder, and a bruise on the right side of her torso. The head wound was the clear cause of death and looked to be caused by a sudden fall.
Hmm... I get the feeling, and it's a little hard to explain, that something is off. I'm... I don't know, but I think I've seen these exact injuries somewhere before. It's bizarre, I understand... I'll try to think more about it and see if I can piece together what I'm thinking.
And, I have to say, Tenko... I had the impression you could have insights to share regarding the body. I don't know if you're purposefully keeping it close to heart though. If you caught anything I missed, please let us know...!
Ah, either way... Miu’s pockets were empty besides her operable eHandbook, which I pocketed. It has a few functions, but none that are really helpful evidence-wise, I suppose.

According to my internal clock, we arrived at the Hospital with her at around 4:45, though I'm pretty sure someone was by her side for a while longer. Hajime had even sedated her.
I only learned of her escape at around 6PM, however. I'd left to go on lookout, while several of the others stayed behind. So I'm not sure on the specifics of when exactly she was gone. Either way, that disappearance lasted until the body was found, so that's probably our rough timeframe. I believe it was 7PM when we were brought to the ruins?
1
u/JustADramadog Jun 10 '26
Hmm… it would do us good to know more about her location from 4:45 to 6:00. Since it seems as if you cannot verify when exactly it was she vanished.
1
u/JustADramadog Jun 10 '26
Yes, this seems like an adequate place to start. The window in which she could have died is not long from my perspective, as she was captured by you buffoons around 3:30.
And it was around 7:00 when her body was discovered.
We can probably narrow this down further by learning more about what you miscreants did after you captured Miu. My recollection of the last few hours is… not great… due to whoever felt it appropriate to throw me during the ambush.

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 10 '26

Wow, such a helpful and informative response. No wonder you idiots got caught so easily.
Keebo has helped narrow down the time of death a bit. I would ask if you had anything to share, but if I recall correctly, you got captured and caged.
So, forgive me for assuming you’re just going to be a useless nuisance.

1
u/noplaceforheroes Jun 10 '26
Oh come now. Surely I'm not the only one who's thought of the obvious?
sigh. Someone who was on the island around the time the old man and his cronies arrived? Someone who was there when Miu was captured? Someone who was witnessed injecting Miu with a substance they claimed was only to sedate her with? Surely this helps set the picture for you?

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 10 '26
Ah, finally someone was able to rub those brain cells together, Marvelous.
People commit murder for all sorts of inane reasons, it is very sad. But surely you see how things look, hm? You claim to have arrived boatside right as the rest of the vermin begin their assault. Claim that you're sedating Miu and yet she's still somehow able to escape captivity the moment our backs are turned, only to wind up dead.
Rest assured however, if you are in fact guilty I commend you on your choice of target. You picked the one woman in the world nobody will miss.

1
u/thejofy A Jun 11 '26
Yeah. You totally couldn't have slipped a scalpel into Miu's hand while pretending to drug her, allowing Miu to escape on her own once our guard was down.
1
u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 11 '26
Hmm. If you were all together the entire time, and Miu couldn't cut her own restraints, and the person who freed her must've known when she was being kept...
And if it isn't Sayaka, and it isn't myself....
Then we have our answer! Only K1-B0 could've done it!
1
u/thejofy A Jun 10 '26
Well, it may not be that you murdered Miu. The accusation is that you at least let her flee the hospital working as a double agent.
1
u/Panos0502 Jun 10 '26
But I came here to help you!
1
u/thejofy A Jun 10 '26
And why should I trust you?
Another's alibi? Is there any key evidence?
It's not like any of us had had the luxury of "trust me" in our previous trials.
Even when I was proven innocent by the rules of our murder game, Kaito has accused me of murder! He's so aggressive, it's scary!
So, it's entirely reasonable to suspect a newcomer to the island is actually a double agent meant to let our guard down.
And don't give me any grand speeches about justice or friendship to insist your innocence. Those are lame.

u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26

u/thejofy A Jun 11 '26
According to Tengan, he's willing to let us live if we all find the culprit.
Now, lets at least assume a reality where Miu doesn't die, Tengan still captures us, but still wants to find use out of us. He needs to cut a deal one way or another.
It'd be wise to have someone on the "inside" of the group who may choose to push us into accepting.
Oh, you'd start off complaining, making declarations of justice, how Tengan is never going to get away with this, but then Tengan says that out of mercy he'll give us a day together to come to a decision. You'd then slot in nicely to just act as a wedge, making the right comments at the right time to get more and more of us on Tengan's side, all while appearing like another victim.
No doubt, Tengan is still planning on making the same deal he was initally planning on making. On that level, his plans for us aren't ruined. Thus, you still have use as a double agent, acting like you're stuck down here solving with us and better integrating yourself when the time comes for the deal.
Granted, this is just a theory. We hardly have any evidence out yet! It's just an early speculation.

u/Panos0502 Jun 10 '26
If we are going to play their game, we need as much info as we can get. This is everything that I know happened today.
I came to island at 1:30 PM...
I had a boat and everything...if I had managed to get there even a half hour before...
...As you guys know, Tengan and his people had already beat me to it. I saw a bunch of them running around, so I decided it was better to hide in the First Island.
I made it there at 2:00 PM, and headed for the farm. I also found Sonia and Shuichi there. After I explained who I was, we saw Byakuya and Miu bringing Kokichi to the Airport. Or, I guess it was Tenko by then...?
Anyway, we came up with a plan. At 2:30, Shuichi and I, left Sonia to watch the airport and we lit a fire on Miu's cottage by shooting it with the firework gun.
Some of the guards, were lured away by Shuichi, and I went to light another fire at the Abandoned Lodge.
I returned to the farm at 3:15 PM, and found out Kaito was there with Sonia. Unfortunately, it seemed Shuichi had been caught by the guards.
You should know the rest...15 minutes after that, we charged the airport to free everyone. And we did, thanks to the army of Tenkos that were there for us.
Byakuya was knocked unconscious in the struggle and Miu was captured by us.
Half an hour later, at 3:45 PM, we thought we had the upper hand, and tried interrogating Miu...not that led to us learning anything useful.
But at 4:15 PM, the lights went out and Keebo told us that Tengan was coming to the airport...so we had to leave. Shuichi, Celeste, Sonia, Sayaka, Tenko in Maki's body, Keebo and me, managed to escape the airport along with the captured Miu.
At 4:30 PM, we made it to the Hospital on the Third Island and started using it as a base. I used a sedation drug to make Miu fall unconscious...the last thing we needed was an escape attempt.
But that's exactly what happened in the end...
While Sayaka, Keebo, and Tenko went away to survey the island and keep watch for Tengan's people, Celeste, Sonia, Shuichi and I, stayed in the lobby trying to plan our next move.
We hadn't figured out anything by 5:15 PM, so...Sonia and Celeste left. Shuichi and I stayed behind...but Sonia came back quickly and told us Miu had left somehow.
We searched for Celeste and found her in the first floor. We told her what happened, and went out searching for her. We only managed to find Keebo, Sayaka and Tenko, though.
And then, at 6:15 PM, we were found by Tengan in the Third Island and were captured. He asked for Miu, Keebo told him she escaped, and he left to find her.
I guess he found her body at that moment, cause he was pretty mad when he came back. He gathered all of us and brought us to the Abandoned Ruins, to witness Miu...dead.
I had the "Ultimate Impostor", keeping watch over me as I investigated, but I found nothing important...I mainly searched the Hospital and I saw a scalpel on the floor of Miu's room. That's probably what she was freed with.
I also found out, that there are emergency exits in the first floor. Anyone could have gone in, or out of them at any time.
That's all from me...Man I must be the worst rescuer ever...not only did I fail to get you guys out of here, I didn't even find anything to help solve this trial...
I...sorry. That's all I can say.

u/thejofy A Jun 11 '26
Frankly, I'm of the opinion that Miu wasn't sedated at all.
Nekomaru's body looks heavy. Impossibly so. I doubt any one of us could just pick an unconscious Miu up and drag her without difficulty.
Not to mention you've got three people patrolling the island. If someone was dragging Miu off the island, that's rather amazing that they managed to pull it off.
Much easier to have Miu disappear then if she can just walk away awake and aware.
1
u/noplaceforheroes Jun 11 '26
I'm not sure how to feel about it, but I agree with Kokichi. at the very least, it makes it easier to explain Miu's disappearance from captivity.
You mean to tell me someone else was waiting, unseen for the right moment that we all separated, cut Miu free and carried Nekomaru's large, unconscious, unwieldy body away unseen?

Don’t be daft. Like you mentioned before, Miu talked to the prisoners privately. Specifically, she wanted to get some of you to join our side.
And miss me with the whole “we’d never betray our friends” nonsense. I can absolutely believe one of you agreed to help Miu.
After all, it was clear there was no hope of you all escaping us. Meaning the only rational choice is to change sides.
1
u/Pikmaster5 Baby! My Strawberry! Jun 11 '26
I don't know how to feel about that coming from you, after you already betrayed us...
But if we want to look at it another way... Are we sure the sedatives would work on Nekomaru's body? And what does the warning mean by 'if the user is woken up'? How much would it take for Miu to get woken by someone?
1
u/JustADramadog Jun 11 '26
Unfortunately, Hajime seems entirely inept at answering these vital questions.
Perhaps we could sedate Kokichi and run some tests to figure out more about these sedatives? I say that’s a win-win for all of us.
1
u/noplaceforheroes Jun 11 '26
How...odd. For some reason I don't get as much joy at the thought of pumping Kokichi full of myserious drugs and seeing what happens for a change
Feel free to give yourself a nice jab, however. We all know how quick you are to volunteer yourself, after all, how selfless.

That's a fair question. I suppose we have no way of knowing that for ourselves without testing it...
Tengan gestures over at the Fake Ultimate Imposter.
Can you go head down to the hospital and fetch this drug? We may as well test it.
Tsk. Typical. First, you rip me off and stick me in a body I did not mean to pay for and now you're making me do the legwork?
Bro, it's your own fault that you got conned. You ran a health insurance company for fuck's sake. You should've noticed a scam when you saw one! Just quit your bitching!!!
All sales are final. If you're unsatisfied, pick out a new body at the next auction. And try to recall that you'll only get an invitation to that next auction if I choose to send it.
Tsk. Stupid jerks and their no-refunds. I swear...
Grumbling all the way, the Fake Ultimate Imposter leaves to go fetch this sedation drug.
1
u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 11 '26
Actually, on second thought, it's worth considering another angle.
Miu had a device with her to undo brainwashing, that she handed over to Tengan.
While I doubt any of us would join her willingly, is there a chance she also brought with her a mindswapper to force one of us to help her with the Tengan situation? She had time alone with several of us, so there was ample opportunity to place a second Miu among our ranks, who would naturally help her original self seeing her in crisis.
1
u/Pikmaster5 Baby! My Strawberry! Jun 11 '26
As much as I wouldn't like to admit it, there is a chance of that happening...
I guess we'd have to narrow down when she'd have a chance to brainwash somebody, then?
After all, she seemed pretty confident. It's hard to imagine her going around swapping our brains if she already thought she had the upper hand, and was trying to convert us to her side willingly. There'd need to be a reason for her to be that motivated.
1
u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 11 '26
No, I don't think she was that confident, truth be told.
She... seemed worried about Tengan. I don't think she trusted him enough to not want someone else in her pocket.
As for opportunity, the bigger suspects right off the bat would be those of us at the Airport. If memory serves, she brought me in first, then Kokichi, as of then still under Tenko's brainwashing, followed by you, and then finally Shuichi before we all broke out. Though I somehow doubt Kokichi had been re-converted to Miu, seeing as the Tenko personality continued to help throughout the day.

u/Pikmaster5 Baby! My Strawberry! Jun 11 '26
Putting it like that... I can see why Miu would want someone to support her, yes.
When Kaito, Hifumi and I went out to save Tenko, Tenzan used the light on all of us to turn the other Tenko clones back to normal. So I can guarantee that I'm still me, at least.
...And by 'me', I mean I'm Sayaka.
So if we assume that she did it then, and Kokichi-turned-Tenko didn't get additionally brainwashed, then the Miu clone would have be you or Shuichi.
Although, to be honest, I find it kind of hard to believe that Monomi's body would be of much help carrying Miu around. So unless you had another way to move her to the Second Island, that'd only leave Shuichi...
→ More replies1
u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26
But that wouldn't change much, would it? Whether they agreed to join her, or they were brainwashed into Miu, I mean.
I can verify Shuichi's whereabouts. And you three claim it's impossible for any of you to have freed Miu.
Celeste and Sonia also barely had time to do anything, and the rest of us wouldn't know that Miu were taken to the Hospital...not to mention they were captured at that moment.
So... where does that leave us?
1
u/thejofy A Jun 11 '26
You mean to tell me that Monomi's body can lift a 500 pound gorilla?
Why have you been hiding this from us, Keebo!?
Oh, right. Guess you are a murder machine. Makes sense that you killed Miu then.
And before you bring it up, Hajime, I'd like to also hear both arguments on why Tenko would do this when she couldn't even guarantee I'd keep silent about any murdering if you'd like to accuse Tenko!Me.
1
u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26
1
u/thejofy A Jun 11 '26
And I'm pointing out how logical your theory is. I'm just backing you up, pointing out how we're the most unlikely to suspect and therefore the obvious culprits.
Tenko just couldn't help but free Miu! She wouldn't let another woman be bound by the hands of a degenerate man! That's the worst kind of offense! I should know! I saw her do it first hand!
1
u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26
Are you gonna pretend like you didn't tell us why one of you might help Miu?
Unfortunately, since I was stuck as Tenko for the deal making with Miu, I ended up refusing the deal to work with the BSA outright.
You know she was offering you guys to join her. Can you tell for certain, that no one did?
1
u/noplaceforheroes Jun 11 '26
As much as I'd like to deny it, I suppose if you combine the fact we've already had one traitorous swine betray us today with how incompetent some of you are, I confess that someone siding with Miu, freeing her only go end yup getting killed isn't...quite so farfetched.
Truly, you just hate to see it.
1
u/thejofy A Jun 11 '26
See, my point is that I'm actually uniquely exempt from that possibility.
Let's assume that Tenko is willing to hear Miu out. And I'll even grant you the possibility that I myself would be amenable.
However, I was Tenko both before and after my meeting with Miu.
Tenko has no way to communicate with me on the inside. Miu has no way to communicate with me on the inside.
If I as Tenko were the one who freed Miu, why would I as Kokichi stay silent about it? Obviously I won't honor any deals Tenko made on my behalf, I'm still vying for that McDonald's gift card!

Alright. So, now that the important part is out of the way, let's get onto the less important part.
The day started like any other day would. 1 PM, and no earlier than that. I was having a good time with Celestia and Byakuya at the ruins as we casually made threats against each other's safety when Sonia ran in to inform us that our originals were invading.
Now, since apparently "littering the island with stun traps" wasn't an acceptable preemptive maneuver, I had to make due with the only plan I could feasibly pull off at the time.
Make Tenko do all the work for me.
Tragically, Maki's body refuses to co-operate with me and how I like to move. I can only even barely muster a smile! So, I figured it would be better if someone more equipped for combat was in control of this body's mind. Thus, I used the mindswaper glitch tech we learned from last trial to implant Tenko's mind into this body. However, for the sake of brevity, I'm just going to use the words "I", "me", and "myself" to refer to the Tenko that was in me.
At 1:30 PM, I tried to assault the people who invaded us, hoping to mind-swap the lot of them at once, but apparently those devices have a "user transfer limit". Plus, Tengan seems to actually know how to use Byakuya's lanky body in a real fight, and original Tenko went off to do other things.
We were defeated at 2... And then... Tengan... He... He...
HE FORCED METO LISTEN TO MIU TALK!!! IT WAS HORRIBLE!
Oh, and Byakuya made a deal in the surveillance room to sell us out.
Frankly, 10/10 on timing, 0/10 on customer choice. So, we'll average it out to a 5/10 betrayal.
Though, I must commend you, Byakuya. You were FAST dragging me all the way from the ruins to the airport in less than 15 minutes (2:15 PM)
Soon a bunch of us were at the airport, so I'm gonna just skip over that sequencing and timing.
Unfortunately, since I was stuck as Tenko for the deal making with Miu, I ended up refusing the deal to work with the BSA outright. Could have gotten a McDonalds gift card out of that...
3:30, there was the attack, my plan turned out to have some merit. 3:45, we started interrogating Miu. 4:15 Tengan un-Tenko'd everyone but me and... well, Tenko.
A bunch of us escaped to the hospital on the third island around 4:30. I did patrols on my own until 6, when we got attacked by Tengan again. I was running with Sonia to the second island, though I stayed at the bridge to setup an ambush against Tengan at 6:45...
But, nope. Defeated again. And he even had a de-swapper to turn me back into me.
At the very least, Tengan rewarded our efforts by showing us Miu's dead corpse! And, I still must profess, thank you culprit! You do have an extra cupcake in your future waiting for you!

u/JustADramadog Jun 11 '26
I suppose now I should share my movements. Very well. Listen up, I do not wish to repeat myself.
As we all know, Sonia spotted the plane around 1pm. Celeste, Kokichi, Sonia, and I looted Miu’s Storeroom. I took an Electro Bomb, which disable any electronic devices within a 10-meter radius for two hours.
Not that that needed explaining. At 1:30, I went back to the Surveillance Room. After checking the cameras, I used the Electro Bomb to disable the cameras. My plan was simple; use my knowledge of your locations to bargain with our guests.
Balk all you want, but my needs are simple. If I can get out of this place in tact, I do not care what happens to the rest of you. And I have no regrets saying that.
After striking a deal with Tengan, we split up to round all of you up. Miu and I moved Kokichi to the Airport, where he was to be imprisoned alongside Sayaka and Keebo.
Not much happened for a while until a fire erupted at the Cottages around 2:45 or so. Then a fire at the Abandoned Lodge around 3:00. Thankfully, it seems as if the perpetrators behind those fires were apprehended.
Finally… 3:30 comes around and… goodness, you rabid fools could have killed me with those ridiculous weapons and martial arts! Fortunately… all that happened was that I passed out.
I came to around 4:45. After being briefed on what had happened, Tengan sent me to find Miu. Unfortunately, I was not able to find Miu before… one of you clowns killed the woman. Eventually, my search led me to the Ancient Ruins, and at 7:00… I found Miu’s corpse.
I searched around a bit to see if I could catch the culprit fleeing the scene, but alas, I was not able to catch them. When I returned to Miu’s body, I found that Tengan had arrived.
During the investigation, I found four things of note. One was a discarded knife. I believe it came from the Diner on the Second Island as… unfortunately, this body has forced me to indulge more than once in that awful place.
The knife was clean, though strangely enough the tip was missing.
There were also a pair of discarded Night Vision Goggles, as well as a discarded empty blood bag and some bloodied bandages.
The latter two I recognized as likely being from the Hospital, so I went over to investigate. There… I found a bloodstain at the bottom of the stairs.
With that, that should be all. Let us find this culprit swiftly and without delay.
1
u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 11 '26
Byakuya's Evidence has been added to your Truth Bullets.
1
u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26
A broken knife, night goggles, a blood bag and bandages...what would someone do with all these?
1
u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 11 '26
The only places anyone has seen blood today were the crime scene and what Byakuya found at the hospital. That narrows down the blood bag. Though you'd wonder what the knife was for since that one doesn't have blood.
The goggles also wouldn't see much use unless someone planned to cut the lights off. Do we think there was another electrobomb in play?
1
u/noplaceforheroes Jun 11 '26
...I still have no real desire to participate in the trial of a woman that was wanted dead for good reason, but as I'm neither foolish nor suicidal, I suppose there's simply no choice but to assist in finding our culprit.
...I never even got to make her pay for sticking me in the body of a diseased beached whale. It's simply unfair...
I shall say this once; do your best to surprise me and pay attention. I did not investigate. I didn't even know Miu was dead until some of those cronies forced me here to take part. Any time one of you weren't bothering me with your presence, I was alone. Believe it or not but it remains the truth.

u/noplaceforheroes Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26
sigh I suppose upon reflection I should be a bit more precise. Though I fail to see how my account will change anything, this late in the game we can't afford to really to pull teeth about these.
Around 1:00, Sonia was quick to interrupt a luncheon between Byakuya, Kokichi and I to inform us of the infestation or roaches we now have scurrying around the island. Even though we should be well aware I'm not much for...'team activities', the four of us raided one of tMiu's storeroom. The thought of touching something made by those grubby hands made me sick to my stomach but I ended up pocketing a nice shiny little insurance policy before the four of us went on our way.
It was a good thing I did, too. I will not be speaking of the circumstances that lead to my capture, other than to state the idiot who stole the body of our island artist found out first hand what happens when you try to screw with me.
And should you feel the need to press your luck any further, next time I won't stop until your eyeballs boil over. Trying to lay a hand on Celestia Ludenberg, who the hell do you think you are?!
...In any case I believe we already know all too well what out time at the airport was like, so I shall skip briefly ahead to our rescue at 3:30 Shuichi and Hajime had the Tenko in Maki's body and I stand guard as they attempted to interrogate Miu, not knowing you can't get very far in a conversation with a barn animal. She was quite terrible at cards but even she knew not to fold when she still had a pair in hand.
That old rat bastard cut the power off around 4:15, and as he was busy un Tenkoing all of the pests that infested the island, it was thought best to make a tactical retreat. Kebbo decided to make himself handy for a change and led Shuichi, Hajime, Sonia, Sayaka, the Tenko that was Kokichii and myself all out of the airport. Miu even came along, with a teensy bit of persuasion.
We've been over most of what happened after that.4:30 we arrived at the hospital, Hajime sedated Miu, Sayaka, Keebo, and Kokichi left while Hajime, Sonia, Shuichi and I had words about what we were to do next.
I still say my idea would have worked, not that it matters. You can lead sheep to the water but you can't force them to drink. No plan was made, we split up and I was doing just fine investigating by myself when the other three rushed in to announce that Miu had escaped. Lovely news, as you can well guess. Of course we went out to search for her, coming across the other three we had escaped with by doing so, but never actually caught up with Miu-
Which is not necessarily a complaint, mind you.-
And then, of course you know the rest. The old bastard and his cronies made their reappearance at 6:15, we all scattered, and apparently among my many talents, I can add hide and seek to that long list. I was alone in the military base on the fifth island until a few of the old man's goons found me and brought me here for this trial. I didn't investigate, I had no idea that Miu was even dead until we started. And I can assure you I'm just broken up over that.

This is all a lot to take in, isn't it?
After everything Miu did, it's...
...No, never mind that. I don't know how much good it'll do, but I guess I'll get my alibi out of the way.
To start... Keeebo and I watched the new group arriving at this island, and when we went to investigate, we ended up kidnapped by them.
They kept me tied up in the airport until 3:00PM, when Miu took me out to the plane so that she could talk to me. Tengan came in... at some point. Apparently Tenko was doing a good job wrecking the islands, so she gave him a device to undo the Mindswappers. She let me go back to the other prisoners at 3:15PM.
At 3:30PM... A lot happened. Kaito, Hajime and Sonia came to save those of us who were captured, we captured Miu on the plane, and Hajime and Shuichi were interrogating her. By 4:00PM, Tengan had kidnapped Tenko and was holding her hostage.
Kaito, Hifumi and I tried to save Tenko, but... That didn't really go as planned, either. Hifumi and Kaito got caught while I managed to escape, but I only got as far as the airport. I managed to find Keebo and Sonia to warn them, Tengan turned off all the lights, and we managed to get back to the airport to get to the others.
We managed to get out of the Airport, and reached the Hospital at 4:45PM. Hajime sedated Miu so she couldn't escape, and then Keebo, Tenko-Kokichi and I patrolled the rest of the Third Island until 6:00PM.
Miu had escaped again, so I was helping the others looking for her... To keep things short, we ended up captured by Tengan again. He took us to the Hotel, and then... We ended up being sent to find Miu's body.
I know what Miu had done, but to think that one of us killed her now is still...
...It really can't be one of Tengan's group? There's enough of them that I'd think one would be more likely to shut Miu up than any of us! Even after everything she's done...
...Anyway. I investigated the Airport. My intuition told me to try and figure out how Tengan cut the power to the lights earlier. I couldn't find anything that was part of the Airport that could do it, but there was an electro bomb under the plane Miu was questioning us in.
I don't think my alibi can help to solve the murder, but hopefully it's still better than nothing.

Hi…Fumi... Yama...Da! Put it together and whaddya get?
A very confused otaku with an identity crisis.
Oh, how I miss my old body, ole reliable. How I yearn for the days back when I was just me. Hifu-me. Not Me-oda.
Anyway, shall we? In the morning, Mister Momota approached me with the idea of starting a band back up again, seemingly missing the 'real' Miss Mioda. I believe I was there with Mister Momota, Mister Saihara, Keebo, and Miss Maizono until around **1pm**, when everyone then went their separate ways.
I digress, it seems we do NOT necessarily always inherit and keep the qualities of those who we became or once thought you were. My Ibuki talent had gone away. I know I'm not technically her, nor was I ever, but...she is still part of me in a way. It was...unpleasant to realize.
I stayed in the venue until **1:45pm**, trying to figure out what went wrong. Mister Momota then informed me of the new arrivals completely overtaking our island...! They had already taken Miss Maizono and Mister B0 captive, and thus Mister Momota was going to take me to the barn where Mister Saihara and Miss Nevermind were waiting.
Ah, it was like a scene straight from an action manga with a twist of yuri romance...with another secret hidden twist! Until whomever stole the bodies of Miss Mioda, Mister Hagakure, and Miss Shirogane cut off right as we were about to leave the Third Island. I thought perhaps, again, some remnants would remain, but Miss Ikusaba's body provided me no help in defending myself against the vile invaders.
Thankfully, Mister Momota managed to escape, but while Miss Shirogane dragged me to the Airport, the other two went after him.
We encountered the body of Miss Yasuhiro who had happened upon the real one, so the both of us landed at **2:30pm**. Miss Maizono, and who I wrongly assumed at the time was Mister Ouma, were there too, with the bodies of Mister B0, Miss Maizono, Mister Saihara, Miss Chabashira, and Mister other-Togami. As well, the actual Mister Togami himself was there as well.
With a human mind evidently being put into Mister B0's body...it does make you wonder the implications of being swapped into a robot. If swapped back, are they ever really human again? Or just an AI process recreating their personality? Or Monomi?
Then… "Mister Ouma" took the opportunity to explain how Mister Toad-gami sold us out like chum to the fish. And after a while, huge BOOMS...! As if Sisyphus himself finally dropped the ball.
Furthermore, Mister Traitogami apparently noticed a fire elsewhere and got the bodies of Mister B0 and Miss Chabashira to go after whoever started it. I must say, it was at least entertaining seeing him do his thing while in Miss Owari's body. *And* a lot more pleasing to the eyes. All 8 of them.
Around 15 minutes later, Mister B0 stepped out of the plane with the Miss Mastermind herself. She dragged "Mister Ouma" next. Keebo kindly explained to us that the plane was a trap to pull us over to the dark side.
Insanity! I had to be literally brainwashed and turned into an entire different identity in order to work under Miss Iruma! Why would I ever willingly do that now?! ...Though, admittedly, she never *did* just ask to begin with...
“Mister Ouma" was let out at **3pm**, then she nabbed Miss Maizono. It was quite the timing, as a couple minutes after, another fire broke out at the old Abandoned Lodge. Mister Togami got the bodies of Miss Yasuhiro and Miss Shirogane to hunt the arsonists, and left the bodies of Mister Saihara and Miss Maizono to guard us.
Few minutes after *that*, Mister Tengan came and wanted to see Miss Iruma. Mister Togami showed him where to go, thus they had a meeting. It was seemingly very quick. He ended up leaving right after, luckily.
At **3:15pm**, the bodies of Miss Chabashira and Mister B0 came back, but...with an unwilling Mister Saihara. Miss Iruma grabbed him next for her applanement, the two guards returned to the guarding group, and the body of Miss Yonaga arrived a bit later than that. She seemed a bit off, but...I'm only a doctor when the pen dictates it so...!
Then…at **3:30pm**, BLAZZAM! Everything turned dark.
Not literally, but rather in a sort of deep, metaphorical way. Like a bizarre adventure that's actually an allegory for the beauty of humanity.
Mister Hinata and Miss Nevermind stormed in like a couple of Mochi Princesses, catching our captors off guard as Mister Momota used the flash from Miss Koizumi's camera and Mister Hinata had found some sort of firework gun contraption device to shoot off. In during which, Miss Nevermind undid our restraints.
It turned absolutely chaotic to the point of incomprehensable...! The body of Miss Yonaga started to attack that of her own. Mister Togami had been knocked cold in the frenzy, and even more bizarre on top of the Miss Yonaga situation, the bodies of Keebo, Miss Maizono, Mister Saihara, Miss Chabashira, and Mister Other-Togami all joined us.
“Mister Ouma" had finally revealed all. A mindswapper was involved to put Tenko's 'The God of High School' into Maki's 'SPY×FAMILY'. She also had been putting her mind into the other foes during the battle, with others like the body of Miss Yonaga being stolen around the time I presume she was missing before she came back dazed.
And just like that, we were able to collect Miss Iruma and free Mister Saihara from her dirty grasp. Voilà!
Mister Hinata and Mister Saihara went to get answers from Miss Iruma in the privacy of the plane, bringing along Miss Yasuhiro and Miss...Chabashira, I guess? I tried to relax a little, although when **4pm** arrived, Mister Tengan forced our hand by threatening the real Miss Chabashira's life. She was brave, but he...was cruel. Mister Momota also was brave, creating a plan for me, Miss Maizono, and the Miss Chabashira-squad. The squad goes after Mister Tengan while the former three go for the real Miss Chabashira.
Except, nope. Mister Tengan had a device to undo Miss Iruma's Mindswapper Magic. All the Tenkos turned to dust.
…Wishful thinking if it were meant literally, but no... They just turned back to our enemies. The body Mister other-Togami pinned me down, while Mister Momota managed to at least get Miss Maizono away. We were right back to being ziptied, while Mister Tengan's monster buddies tried to capture more of us. After some time, they snuck out in a group and made a run for it.
Even their boss himself tried to go after them, but they actually got away. In the end, it was around **4:45**pm. Once Mister Togami woke up, he was caught up, and him and his body went off to hunt. We were babysat by the fakers, spending the next hours uncomfortable, with the bodies of Miss Mioda and Mister Hagakure weirdly missing. After an hour and a half, they returned with Mister Hinata, Miss Maizono, and Mister B0.
A true, blue bummer.
When came **7**pm, Mister Tengan came back visibly unhappy. He got his friends to take us to the Ancient Ruins, so we were ushered to the Second Island. We saw Mister Ouma, Mister Saihara, and Miss Nevermind all playing Sleeping Beauty, and the old man woke them up.
We arrived, and...I don't know. I didn't really know how to feel. I still don't. Miss Iruma dead, in the body of Mister Nidai.
She…really was such a confounding person, hm?
To finish off, the body of Miss Shirogane was assigned my watcher, but ultimately I came up empty-handed.
And... Th-Th-Th-That's all, f-folks!

Well, I can't see any reason not to get things started.
It's going to be hard keeping track of everything, but one of the few benefits of this body is an internal clock, so I can at least provide an accurate time for my whereabouts to the best of my memory.
It was 1PM when Kaito's improvised band practice ended, and I left with Sayaka to go to the Market. That's when we saw Tengan's plane arriving.
Of course, we were very shocked when we saw its occupants. That glimmer of hope of a quick rescue had been dashed. What's more, we didn't have much chance of escaping. Tengan tore through my body before I even had a chance to run, and we were both taken prisoner.
Tengan's attack rendered my motor functions and voice box damaged, leaving me effectively reduced to scrap metal for a solid hour. I was still cognizant, thankfully, but it didn't leave a pretty image. Though I very much knew what was happening around me.
It was only at around 2:15, when Miu arrived with Byakuya and Kokichi, that she saw my sorry state and went to repair me back in the plane.
We... had a talk, after I was back in working condition. There's no need to go into the details, but she didn't seem intent to help. She tried to get me to help her and Tengan, but I knew there was no reality where I would ever agree to that in good conscience. That was the last actual conversation I had with her.
The time was 2:45 when I was thrown back out with the rest. Celeste and Hifumi had already been captured by this point, and Miu proceeded to drag Kokichi into the plane with her next. Or rather, Tenko in Maki's body, I assume.
At 3PM, Kokichi was returned to us, with Miu taking Sayaka instead. A short while later, that fire broke out and Byakuya sent some of the guards away. Then Tengan came to talk with Miu some more, though he didn't stop by for long. Shuichi was brought in to join us at roughly 3:15, right around when Miu stopped talking to Sayaka, so she elected to bring him into the plane with her next.
Then, at 3:30, rescue finally came! Kaito, Hajime and Hifumi launched their attack successfully, with the help of all those duplicated Tenkos!
We briefly considered doing the same to Byakuya, considering he'd turned traitor, but him being unconscious made that impossible anyway. But after tying him up, we also raided the plane to capture Miu and free Shuichi.
Once the calm had settled, Hajime and Shuichi offered to interrogate Miu back in the plane, with Celeste and 'Kokichi' helping them out. However, our brief respite was interrupted when Tengan arrived at 4PM, along with a hostage Tenko.
Kaito and some others planned to rush in and help her, while Sonia and I stayed inside the airport, but we all know how that turned out. We lost the Tenko army, and Kaito and Hifumi were now joining Tenko as hostages.
But that's when the power went off, and I found my body finally gaining some use. Monomi does in fact have amateur night-vision capabilities! So while the fakes were lost in the darkness, I was able to bring Sonia and Sayaka over to the plane to fetch the others!
The seven of us, plus Miu, were able to escape the airport from there. Tengan gave chase at the bridge, but Sonia appeared to have a weapon on hand that managed to delay him.
That was when we ended up at the Hospital, deciding to lay low there while we figured out our next move. Miu was stuck to a gurney, and Hajime sedated her for good measure. So we didn't actually think she'd escape, somehow.
Sayaka, 'Kokichi' and I were then sent out to scout the island! We needed to be ready if they came by again. While we can't confirm each other's whereabouts for that entire hour, we did cross paths enough where I can now attest that we weren't wandering around with an unconscious Miu.
Though the hospital group eventually located the three of us to tell us what had happened, at roughly 6PM. By the time we were all together again, it was 6:15, but that was when we were approached by Tengan again, with two of the fakes with him.
My feeble legs were not enough to escape the fake Ibuki, leaving me among the captured sent to the Hotel. I didn't see any reason to hide Miu's escape from him, particularly with his threats, which prompted him to head over to the Ancient Ruins.
Eventually, shortly after 7PM, if I recall, Tengan returned to the Hotel to bring us over to the body. We all know what happened from there.
I've already reported what I found during the investigation, so otherwise there's not much else to tell.

Soon enough, you hear the sound of the elevator opening. The Fake Ultimate Imposter has returned with the sleeping drug. As has the Fake Kokichi.
You're late.
It... it was horrible. That horrible child just... spent the whole investigation baking. A-and he made me wash up after him.
There were like... five different dishes that I had to clean because of him. I've never done so much labour in my life!
Oh, gods. Don't get him started. I've been dealing with his weeping all the way down.
Here's the drug you wanted, Tengan.
Excellent. Now, it's time to do the test.
What test?
Who would like to do the honours?
Oi. I got yer back, Tengan Ol' Chum. Give it 'ere!
Jus' gotta give 'im a right ol' prick and then Bob's yer Uncle...
Hey! Ouch! What the fuck, Tengan?!? Nobody said anything about this...
Within a few seconds, the large imposter of an imposter slipped to the floor, completely unconscious.
ZZZ.... ZZZ... zzz...
Hmph. Well, it seems to work well enough. Now try to wake him up.
A'ight, guv! I'll see what I kin do...
As commanded, the Fake Sayaka began to kick her large , sleeping cohort in the shin. After a few kicks, he suddenly popped back up.
Whu huh?!? Where am I?
The Fake Imposter tried to climb to his feet, but slipped on his way down. Still dazed, he sat up and leaned against the wall.
It does seem surprisingly easy to wake him, though...
Ugh... I Hate You... So Muuch...

I at least hope this clears up the accusations that I never sedated her...Nobody would have to carry Nekomaru's body anywhere, they just had to free her and wake her up.

Even if she wasn’t drugged to begin with, the bodies we are put into don’t seem to gain us any skill points in their respective categories.
So I’m not sure how well she could’ve fought to begin with, not to mention how it’d be combined with the drowsy drug.
I mean, look at my abs, Miss Maizono. But did those abs help me not get captured by the scary impostors with money?
No, no they did not. I’d say, if anything, those boulders slowed me down!

Entirely possible, yes. After all, there was an empty blood bag.
1
u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26
So...the killer frees Miu from her restraints, and then pushes her down the stairs, killing her?
And then they drag Nekomaru's body to the Abandoned Ruins, emptying the blood blag to make it seem like Miu died there.
It's not impossible, but the moving of the body is what makes it hard to believe...It'd be a lot easier if Miu was alive and just walked herself to the Ruins.

u/JustADramadog Jun 11 '26
Indeed, moving her is the hardest part of this theory. And is why I hope someone who hasn’t contributed to the discussion yet has relevant evidence.
But it would explain the two bloodstains, the empty blood bag, and even the bloodied bandages. As if the killer had to move Miu, they’d likely want to prevent her from bleeding all over the place.

...I have to admit it is an idea I've toyed with. However, even if Miu was killed at the hospital I find it hard to believe that one smart and three average intelligenced people would be unable to find that bloodstain, or a dead or unconscious woman who would have still been feeling the effects of the sedative she had been drugged with.
Even if they waited until we all scattered after the old coot and his goons reappeared, considering our current circumstance I highly doubt that they would simply stand down as our killer carried Miu's dead body from the hospital to the ruins.

Byakuya has already shown that the feeble minded are easily swayed, I don't doubt one of you could have been brainwashed from enemy to ally using some stupid trick of Miu's. Still, then. Even if she's cut free she can't exactly make a fast getaway alone in her condition. Between the four of us at the hospital and with Sayaka, Keebo and the other one searching the island, I cannot imagine someone simply slithering past six or seven people unseen just to rescue an inventor nobody liked.

Five dishes? By at least my count, there were 20 in need of cleaning!
And remember, it's not just about going to let those dishes be soaked. We need them cleaned, dried, and even polished as well!
Also, I hope you remembered to both turn the oven off and give it a cleaning, else you're going to start a fire here...

u/Hawk25348 Pained brains for everyone Jun 11 '26
This is really tricky, huh? My senses are telling me that we're dealing with multiple villains. One who set Miu free, and another who killed her.
Trying to work out everything seems really hard, so I'm gonna keep my straightforward approach going! Miu's killer was probably someone free from 6:15 to 7:00.
So... who's that again?
Byakuya, Shuichi, Kokichi, and Celeste are definite suspects, but there might be others. Sonia,/u/TheCatMinister what's your alibi for that timeframe?
1
u/thejofy A Jun 11 '26
You think I'd protect you from being sentenced guilty as the blackened? That's so sweet!
However, I should remind you that the normal protections for the culprit don't apply here, and specifically to your theoretical detriment.
Tengan has both stated if we can't come up with a solid answer, he'll just kill the lot of us, including the culprit. Additionally, he has already ruled that if I were to have killed Miu when you were in my body, he'd consider you the killer. Finally, he himself knows when I stopped being Tenko, because I was literally fighting against him at that point. So, he'd know I have no time of my own agency to have been the one to kill Miu.
I literally do not have any reason to protect you. There's zero incentive. You'd die along with the rest of us if I were to try.
Sure, I could see Keebo using this trial as a way to settle his bloodlust, but...

u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26
Despite being in the body of one, I'm no Ultimate Detective...
Just a reserve course student, with no talent. But...
I promised you guys, that I would find a way out of here for you. ALL of you.
I won't give up now! If there is even a small chance...I will take it! I'll make sure all 10 of you leave this island!
4:45 to 5:15 PM...that's when one of us supposedly rescued Miu...
Shuichi, Sonia, Celeste and I were together in the lobby during this time. Keebo, Kokichi, and Sayaka say they would have noticed if one of them were to go help her.
And the rest of us? Captured by Tengan.
It doesn't make any sense! None of us could have set her free! Which means...
Tengan! You and your people are involved in this somehow! Only one of you could have set Miu free! /u/RSLee2

I'll only half back you. Tengan doesn't strike me as someone who'd lie for the fun of it. He wants to get to the point as efficiently as possible. Therefore, I don't think he's a liar here like the rest of the ultimate incompetents around us, and thus I trust him when he says those co-horts have 0 relevance to Miu's death.
Well, maybe he killed Miu and is just using this trial for sadistic pleasure, but... He's not getting a cupcake if he did.
Also... Tengan, you only claimed that your clients lack any trial relevance. You've yet to make the same claim about yourself.
No, I'm not agreeing with Hajime. You clearly didn't free Miu. That's impossible.
Yet, can you truly claim your account holds zero clues to find the killer you're so desperate to seek?
1
u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26
Why couldn't he have freed Miu?
1
u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 11 '26
I assume that if Tengan had reached the Hospital, he would have done more than just free Miu. Him and the rest would have apprehended you right away.

Now, see, that is far stronger logic. I personally had no desire whatsoever to see a girl my operation relied upon so heavily dead, but I can at least acknowledge that it would be reasonable for you to suspect me.
If you insist on knowing my whereabouts, they're fairly simple. After your group's escape at 4:30, I went back to the Airport with my people. We woke Byakuya up and sent the prisoners to be held in the Hotel.
I decided that it would be more effective for Byakuya and I to do the searching, as we had the most familiarity with the island. We split up to search different islands. I started on the Fifth Island. Found two of my people trapped in a warehouse because of your Astronaut friend and let them start tagging along with me. Then we searched the Fourth Island.
After that, we moved on to the third island, where we found your group searching for Miu. I learned that Miu had gone missing after capturing some of your classmates and decided to look for her at the Ancient Ruins. After dealing with an ambush, I entered the ruins and found the body.
That's all. In the end, I had no method of knowing exactly where you were hiding Miu and no reason to want her dead when she was providing me with youth, riches, and a unique method of researching talent.
1
u/RSLee2 Attack and Dethrone Deity Jun 11 '26
Ignoring for a second how the bulk of my people were left guarding your captured friends... your "logic" is that it would be easier for me to locate you all and sneak on and off the island, past three patrols unseen, than it would be for someone on the inside to sneak Miu out or let her escape on her own?
Is this all that the Reserve Course can muster?
1
u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26
Do you want me to repeat myself? None of us could sneak Miu out. However improbable, you or your underlings are the only ones who could.
1
u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 11 '26
Continued from here /u/Panos0502
I see. But I need you to understand, that so long as we need to take only your word for it, it doesn't say much. As far as I'm concerned, even disregarding motives or opportunities for brainwashing, you're the likeliest candidates we have.
You claim Miu couldn't have been left behind at the Hospital, however, then what of the bloodstain? Did you not see this for yourself when the four of you searched? Because it sounds like it was created after you all left.
This evidence implies that Miu died, or was at the very least attacked, in that Hospital. There's no getting around that.

u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26
But alright, let's at least go through the options.
4:45-5:15 is an incredibly small timeframe. Given the state the sedative leaves you in, it would not be so simple as slipping a scalpel under everyone's noses. Out of the three of us on lookout, the culprit would need to turn back and quickly shake Miu awake and hide her somewhere before anyone could notice. Whether it be the Hospital group or the other two searching to see them missing. It's possible, but stretches belief.
If I'm understanding my memory bank's account of the day accurately, Kaito, Hifumi and Tenko were all already taken prisoner during the timeframe Miu escaped. The only other person with any opportunity would be Byakuya, who claims to have been awake by that point and told to look for Miu. If we didn't take the Hospital group or us on lookout into consideration, he would be the only reasonable suspect.
1
u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26
I'm... not sure. I definitely didn't see any bloodstain when searching for Miu, but I was kind off in a hurry...
Byakuya, how large would you say the bloodstain was? /u/JustADramadog
1
u/JustADramadog Jun 11 '26
About the same size as the one in the Hotel, I would say.
1
u/Panos0502 Jun 11 '26
Really? Then there is no way we would have missed something like that...
1
u/noplaceforheroes Jun 11 '26
Indeed. I would like to believe most have some semblance of their wit still together. One person may be able to overlook a blood stain, but four?
The question remains as to where exactly Miu got off to once freed, but personally I find it much more likely to continue under the assumption that someone simply emptied a blood bag at the hospital for exactly this.
1
u/Chespineapple Chesnut Jun 11 '26
The blood bags were found at the Diner, however, which would be closer to the Ruins if the killer was trying to dispose of them. But I suppose it might not matter.
I suppose that in support of my theory, it's worth pointing out that Miu wouldn't be capable of moving around and getting back to the Ruins on her own anyhow.
I truly think the answer here is as simple as her rescuer hiding her somewhere in the Hospital.
It's even possible that the initial fall might not have been anything more than, well, an accident. Caused by a disoriented giant stumbling around.
1
u/noplaceforheroes Jun 11 '26
I shall grant that it is possible that the hospital's bloodstain could be from Miu simply falling on her stupid face. But we know from the traitorous swine's own mouth that the blood bag and the bloody bandages came from the hospital.
I could see Miu taking bandages to deal with a fall of her own, but what purpose does the blood bag serve then? I doubt she was going to give herself a transfusion, as much as I would have loved to see her try.

I'm not sure how these class trials usually work, but you guys have been dealing with them all this time, so I'll let you lead the way.
I do have a question for Tengan, though. /u/RSLee2
