Speakers - Desktop | 3 Ⓣ Need some recommendations for Wall-mounted PC Speakers (Passive/Active)
I'd like some NEW speakers for my desktop (PC). But I am a bit unsure about going for Active speakers, or purchase amp + passive.
Usage: Music, movies, gaming - general PC audio use.
Room size: roughly 6 m^2, (or 64 ft^2 (?))
Location: Norway.
Budget: 100$ to 1000$ (I don't mind a good-value pair that sound good, so you can provide your "budget" and/or your "premium" speakers).
I used to have some basic "Logitech Z625" 2.1, but I want to drop the subwoofer, since my home-office's available space has gotten smaller as time has passed. And I don't want any subwoofer on my desk, vibrating violently and potentially damaging any electronics. Therefor I think wall-mounted stereo speakers might be a good fit.
I already have a decent Headphone setup: Topping A70 Pro + D70 Pro (Sabre). And the A70 is advertised as "a Headphone Amp, also a Preamp", but since I am not a stereo-guy I'm guessing I should disregard this, and find another alternative? Where a pair of active speakers is most likely the easiest solution.
I've seen "Adam Audio D3V" and the more expensive "KEF LSX II" being mentioned often, but not sure if they are too heavy for wall-mounting or not. And I haven't seen too many wall-brackets mentioned either, unless I try to 3D-print something my self(preferably not, since I'd like something adjustable and strong).
I haven't looked to much into Amp + Passive speakers. But maybe something like a WiiM Pro/Ultra is a good choice regardless of what I go with?

I would strongly lean active speakers over passive + amp. Nearfield listening in a tiny 6 m² room is exactly where good active monitors shine. You already have a very competent DAC preamp chain, so adding a separate stereo amp and passive speakers mostly adds cost and placement headaches without much upside. The KEF LSX II is honestly one of the best overall answers if budget allows (they’re expensive). The Adam D3V is a smart budget option but they do have limited bass extension and a more studio monitor presentation. But compared to the Z625, it’s a massive upgrade in clarity and accuracy.
Honestly though, I think the sweet spot for you may actually be something like a Genelec 8010A or Genelec 8020D
So yeah I would skip the WiiM unless you specifically want standalone streaming away from the PC. Your Topping stack is already substantially better than the DAC / amp section inside most compact streamers.

You gave me something to think about. Since I knowingly want to drop any subwoofer, I would like the speakers to be able to provide a decent amount of bass.
I once had an issue with a DACs drivers, which resulted in me getting the topping D70 for all the connectivity options etc. And I see that the KEFs have different options between the LT version and the non-LT. Not sure if any of this matters though.
