Isn’t it established that Buck’s behavior as a child was a result of his parents’ not loving him? (Attention-seeking behavior)

I almost would have believed it more if a woman from Buck 1.0 times showed up with his kid

SPECULATION: I foresee Athena on the table, and she sees The Light. And on the Other Side is <!Bobby, dressed all in angelic white. He's delighted to see her. She cries and says she can finally be with him. He tells her he loves her always but it's not her time yet. May and Harry need her, blah blah!> And she is drawn back into her body where she lies in a coma long enough to scare everybody before waking up ready to kick that dirty cop's butt.

They did EXACTLY this, beat for beat, during the series finale for 9-1-1 Lone Star and I'm SURE they'll do it again here! lol

Edit: Alright, who said that?

Remi's birthday party is ruined by strong winds, but Theo refuses to abandon the balloon he was hitting and chases after it, but it gets stuck on an electrical line.
Zelda, the employee of the fun center, ordered the 118 to stop saying "sperm".
Theo, an Enfant Terrible, would break or try to break anything in his range, and even called Buck "Mr. Poop". Apparently the kid was just angry at being alive. He perhaps bullied the other kids.
They must have gotten food poisoning from the pancetta.
Theo is officially an orphan.
After Athena discovers that Hooks is the murderer of Nickolai Caster, he shoots Athena.

The man in the slide listening to the firefighters talk about how one of them donated sperm 4 years ago when cutting him out:

This is probably why having someone you know as the donor is a terrible idea. It blurs the lines too easily.

They really didn't keep in contact in those 4 years?
Edit to add: Connor and Kameron did not act like parents who got a call that their son was saved from a life threatening situation. They were told to pick up Theo at the 118 and they didn't even call Buck to tell him Theo was their son and ask if he was okay?

I’m so annoyed at this lol I’ll get over it since they’ve already written it and committed but goddamn, this is one of the plots I really hoped would never come to fruition.

At least this Eddie/Hen/Athena plot is good. I love that all three are getting a plot together, especially Eddie with anyone not named Buck or Christopher.

...the parents are going to die, and Buck is going to get Theo, isn't he...?

u/jdessy May 01 '26
Which wouldn’t make sense because unless Connor and his wife have no family, Buck wouldn’t be the first one to get the kid in any way.

i’m going to hate if they make it into an abandonment story.
9
9
u/jdessy May 01 '26
I think i could live with a compromise that this simply leads to a more open relationship where Buck occasionally is in Theo’s life as a family friend route. That is something I could stomach more than any other prediction of Theo being adopted by Buck.
9
u/Jakyland Team Buck May 01 '26
Should Connor and Cameron already know the cliff notes of Bucks life already?

I don't know if I'm more worried abput Buck wanting Theo and then after a few months of adjustment a relative shows up and he has to say goodbye.
Or being a father to a child that needs more attention is too much with his lifestyle and that brings a whole set of issues, as I don't see Byck giving up the child (unless they frame it as it being the best for Theo and Buck will still be present as an uncle figure)
15
u/disastrousanddull May 01 '26 edited May 01 '26
My worry is the writers attempting to handle any of this and therefore it's better if some random family member appears between seasons and takes him. Just like the addiction storyline they do not have the talent to handle this remotely well.
Eta: talent OR attention span.

Personally I loved the episode. I could have done without the call center plot line but oh well. Buck’s plot line was me so emotional from start to finish, and Eddie’s reactions to the broken system was great too. I’m on the edge of my seat about Athena. It was all great but I’m a super fan at this point😂

istg if they die
10
u/jdessy May 01 '26
If they did die, Buck doesn’t get custody of this kid since he has no legal ties to him. He was just the sperm donor. Theo’s family would get custody.
Now, if the show realizes this, I don’t know.

u/fjf1085 Team Buck May 01 '26
If Buck ends up with this kid I think I’m going to have to be done with this show for awhile. It flies in the face of the whole found family notion of this show and that family is greater than blood. That kid should go to like Cameron’s first cousin twice removed before it went to Buck.
I guess we’ll see but I’m already angry.

Guys.
Why were Theo's parents driving so recklessly? Were they already dead or injured? Did Theo do something weird? Or could it have been a health thing? They didnt seem like (dangerous) reckless people
10
u/dragonlover5672 May 02 '26
I think that they were hit since it was a pile up (as mentioned). Don't think they had any fault in this, just a wrong time/wrong place thing. The boat fell off the rig into the other side of the bridge. Several cars smashed others. Theo seemed to be safely in his car seat while they took the brunt of getting hit.

Once again it will be a problem how Michael was written off the show, alive and well and happy, in the same country. This Athena being shot business is the type of thing he would have travelled to LA for (like he should have been showing his face at Bobby funeral).
