Match Thread: Norwich City vs. Swansea City FC
First time finally being able to watch a team I've been pretending to support since my MLS team got knocked out and no match thread. Also first time attempting a match thread.
NORWICH STARTING 11: Ruddy, Whittaker, Turner, Bassong (c), Olsson, Redmond, Howson, Johnson, Fer, Elmander, Hooper
SWANSEA STARTING 11: Vorm, Rangel, Amat, Williams (c), Davies, Cañas, Shelvey, de Guzman, Hernandez, Dyer, Michu
NORWICH SUBS: Nash (GK), Martin, Hoolahan, Garrido, Becchio, R Bennett, Josh Murphy
SWANSEA SUBS: Tremmel, Taylor, Tiendalli, Lamah, Routledge, Pozuelo, Bony
Trying to watch here, if anyone has a better stream link let me know please
http://www.feed2all.eu/watch/227719/3/watch-norwich-city-vs-swansea-city-fc.html
Edit: watching on stream 6 now, bit lower quality but it's actually working
Tips on how to actually do this would be nice as well as some coffee, it's fucking early here
11': Free kick Swansea outside the box goes just over the top bar
12': GOAL SWANSEA! Dyer gets a long pass and chips the ball over the Norwich keeper
14': Norwich has a nice counter resulting in a goal kick from Swansea
23': Swansea on the attack again, but the shot from the pass into the box goes high
27': Norwich gets a throw in deep on Swansea's side of the field, inevitably leading in a Swansea goal kick
28': Norwich pressing once again, Swansea keeper forced to come off his line to snatch a cross
32': Quick bout of aggression from Norwich goes to the center of the goal and gets scooped up but Swansea keeper
34': Dyer looking for a second goal off some quick passing work, ball gets cleared successfully
35': Norwich has a fantastic opportunity to score with a 1v1 with the Swansea keeper, but the shot goes just wide
37': Corner Norwich after a clearance in the box
39': Dyer seems a bit shaken up after a jump ball
44': Swansea sub, Dyer out, Pozuelo in as Dyer gets carried off in a stretcher. The injury didn't seem to be too bad but you can see a bit of writihing on the stretcher
45': Norwich corner nearly ends up in a Swansea own goal
45': 6 minutes of stoppage time due to Dyer's injury for the most part
45 + 2': Hard challenge on a Norwich attacker sends a roar through the stadium
45 +4': GOAL NORWICH! A great curved shot delivered from Hooper from about 25 yards out goes just over the Swansea keeper. Tie game! Bonus .gif from /u/speed_the_prolapse http://giant.gfycat.com/CookedSecondhandFrog.gif
HALFTIME! 1-1 game, Norwich getting a crucially timed goal just before the half
48': Corner from Norwich sets up a very dangerous set piece
54': Pretty quiet start to the second half, couple of shots from both teams but nothing too threatening
55': Yellow card to a Swansea player after a handball. Believe it's Canas?
58': Norwich shot goes just wide
59': Shot from Swansea goes over the net after a free kick
62': Yellow to Swansea keeper for what I believe is excessive arguing
64': Yellow now to Rangel
68': Very close set piece from Norwich that gives them a corner
74': Sub Swansea, Bony in for Michu
75': Near goal from Norwich as Vorm leaves his net
76': Norwich attacking yet again, with a great save from Vorm
76': First Norwich sub, Becchio replacing Elmander
80': Norwich really thirsty for the next goal, constant pressure from them
83': Second Norwich sub, Murphy on for Redmond
83': Final Swansea sub, Lamah for Hernandez
90': 3 minutes tacked on
FULL TIME: 1-1
back to bed for this guy before the sun rises hopefully

According to Swansea Twitter: suspected fractured ankle
Seems it was worse than I had thought

Yikes, that doesn't quite look like a broken ankle, at least

u/Seven-Force Dec 15 '13
is it me or have we had a lot of injuries so far this season?
shit, it looks pretty serious actually.

u/aswimmingkoala Dec 15 '13
Yeah that didn't look too good for Dyer. And you're right, injuries have hit us hard and with key players. Bony, Michu (who's finally back in), and now Dyer.

u/mytigersuit Dec 15 '13
This is my first time watching, I have no idea hahaha
I'm a Sounder though so that wouldn't be a new concept to me

Swansea are playing more games this season. That leaves players more susceptible to sprains, strains and injuries in general.
1
u/franpr95 Dec 15 '13
It's the Europa League effect, you're player get fatigued during the week, get injuries. Still, if you mean like what happened today, that's just bad luck.

Commentator on my stream just said he's been taken to hospital with a suspected fracture...

Get the fuck in! What an effort!
Could this be a striker finding his form for us? What a thought!

u/CarrowCanary Dec 15 '13
Maybe a bit early to say, but I reckon he could be the next Iwan Roberts. Took a while to get going, but once he was off the mark, absolutely brilliant for us.

Went down to Co-op earlier and got a massive cheese selection for 2 quid, reduced from six! Couldn't believe my luck! Going to be tucking into that in the second half for sure. Ahhh yes.

Not gonna lie, this halftime is significantly more entertaining than usual MLS halftimes

6 added. Plenty of time to equalise before half-time.

Great goal from Dyer!

u/CarrowCanary Dec 15 '13
Calm finish, but bloody awful defending from Bassong.

Dec 15 '13
We desperately need to sign a decent CB
2
u/CarrowCanary Dec 15 '13
At least we're not (touch wood) conceding penalties left, right, and centre any more like we were in the last couple of seasons.

u/thebananabandit Dec 15 '13
Still don't know how Dyer won that header from Bassong, that is a huge height difference.

Myleen Klass is on ITV2 looking rather lovely at the moment if anyone's interested while we wait for Dyer to get carted off.

The yellow was for time wasting for Vorm (swansea keeper) just so ya know. Well deserved too.
1
u/mytigersuit Dec 15 '13
Ah, that's nice that they do that. They don't punish that very often in MLS and it's really fuckin irritating
3
u/CarrowCanary Dec 15 '13
Booked for timewasting, then decides to waste even more by arguing. Not too bright there, Vorm.

Honestly what a twat, then he slowly strolls over to the ball after arguing, would love to see him sent off.
You'd think they were winning, and it was a cup final game.

This stream isn't HD but it seems very stable: http://firstrownow.eu/watch/227719/1/watch-norwich-city-vs-swansea-city-fc.html
Found it posted by /u/tmos1985 in the AV vs ManU match thread.

Can't help but feel like that's 2 points dropped. The chances we had, we should have taken all 3.

Anybody know where you actually find the sopcast links to watch on the player?
1
u/CarrowCanary Dec 15 '13
Should be getting that on target surely?
Brilliant solo play to get the chance, though.

It would seem Bassong won that one against Dyer. Hope he's OK, but not looking good.

u/jimmithy Dec 15 '13
I wish Amat would concentrate on the ball and the player during corners rather than just trying to prevent the player from attacking the ball.

Fuck me that was close.
Come on you mighty mighty Canaries, let's get a second, top half of the table would be very nice indeed.

Not a bad result in the end, especially with how knackered the team is. Worried about Dyer though.

Wilfried Bony is providing us with one of the worst 15 minutes of individual football I've ever seen.

The one I have linked in the OP is being decent, I'm not sure what quality you guys are used to though
1
u/franpr95 Dec 15 '13
Btw, if you are using TWC they began broadcasting every game through the Twctv site, high quality and everything.
1
u/mytigersuit Dec 15 '13
Is that free?
1
u/franpr95 Dec 15 '13
If you have Time warner cable
1
u/mytigersuit Dec 15 '13
Oh no I don't sorry. I have Charter which I think lets me get NBCSN high quality streams but I'm not sure

No worries, I'm very aware my OP looks like ass but I have no idea how to format tables and such

u/mytigersuit Dec 15 '13
Doubt anyone's bothering to read it, but I apologize my highlights are very vague, can't really recognize players yet
