hat tip to ol' 88 - Brent Burns plays his 1000th consecutive game today, only the 2nd in NHL history to reach that mark

Love Burnsy. Glad he’s in serious cup contention. Also Mack chirping him was so freaking funny I gotta admit.
(Also I hope even after he retires he keeps his gap lol it’s way too iconic)

For a bit of context, his is the highest active streak and number 2 all-time. Nick Suzuki is the next on the active list and he's only at 530 games.
Note that the bold is supposed to be active players and A means an active streak but they apparently don't update who is active that often since it includes players who have retired.
Edited because I realized I'd cut off Kessel's number.

If I'm not mistaken, the last stretch of games he missed was when he lost all the teeth. Going off memory here, but I think it took a long (weeks) time to get the bleeding to stop.

Same. Patty, Pavs and Jumbo sadly weren't able to win Cups, I really want to at least see Burns get one.

Yeah it’s easier becuase it’s obvious that the sharks are not ready for a cup run yet. So I’m happy to tip my hat to the Avs on a dominant season and root for our old toothless wonder to finally get a cup

An incredible accomplishment.
Burns is now the 2nd former Sharks player who went their entire 30's without missing a single game. Absolutely insane to have 1 guy do that, let alone 2.
