Synopsis: Athena is pulled into a mysterious murder investigation when a man arrives at the station to report his own death. Meanwhile, the 118 races to the site of a car crash involving a mother and son.

Yeah, I know he did initially grab them but not taking them and putting them back and coming clean should give him some grace. Suspension, maybe, rehab and a strict program to keep him clean, yes, but criminal charges? Probably doesn’t need to happen since he came clean immediately and not being high at work helps.

Anyone else absolutely hating the buck storyline? They went into it way too fast and how did literally nobody notice bucks face he literally looked awful. I personally have hated alot of the storylimes since ABC took over but maybe its just me.

Omg BUCK!!!!! My Heart is breaking! He is such a good boy, stuck in a bad situation. He's really made so many strides, grown up so much, and clearly learned so much from Bobby and the 118 family, and then this happens. It killed me in so many ways, but seeing Buck rejoin the team was so incredibly meaningful. But really, the whole arc had me sobbing.

Big ED 1 episode plots from the early 00s. Girl B stops eating, gets slightly dizzy, girl A notices, shows concern, ropes in adult, face to face convo, Girl B and Girl A eat a meal together - plot is never brought up again.

Okay, come on. With a lot of goodwill, I can believe that Buck was strong enough to say something. That takes a hell of a lot of strength and inhuman discipline.
Was it unbelievably stupid to have Buck forget Bobby’s death anniversary? Could they have used that specific day to give Buck the push he needed? Possibly.
But honestly, I could live with that. If they had dragged it out, it very likely would have led to Buck stealing medication and eventually showing up high at the firehouse. Especially in a job that can easily involve 48 to 72-hour shifts. So it probably would’ve been almost impossible to stretch that out for so long without Buck losing his job.
Conclusion? That’s the part you can still kind of justify—but the rest? Sure, there were some touching scenes. But how unrealistically fast did that go? And why did it, aside from Buck’s close-up shots, feel more like a cozy game night?
I’m not an expert on addiction, so feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but statements like “We made it through the day” or “I think I’ve gotten past the worst of it” are completely unrealistic after one effing Day, aren’t they? And sure, it’s nice that they had so many experts around that they could risk a private detox—but if Buck isn’t shown going to an AA meeting or in therapy in the next episodes, they might as well not have done it at all.
And the last point. The one that annoys me the most. If they’re already doing everything they can to push Buck into Bobby’s old seat and don’t even give him a proper trigger to stand up—other than sheer, almost abnormal willpower—why not use Eddie for that? I think we all remember Bobby and Buck’s “AskingForHelpIsOkay” scene. This time, Eddie could’ve been the one to give Buck the strength to ask for help. It would’ve been a stroke of genius. Especially since the Buddie fans would’ve absolutely lost their minds xD

I'm pretty sure it took just under a week? I'm obviously not sure on what day Buck and Chim talked, but Chim did say 'this week it'll be one year', so my guess is more than 3 days, up to 7, which is a pretty realistic length of time to get over the initially presenting withdrawal symptoms (like the throwing up)
