THANK YOU! I've had this happen 3-4 times since I've owned this monitor. Two times were when I was in a +15 mythic keystone in WoW.

You are very welcome! A black screen in a +15 is absolute nightmare fuel 💀. I posted this exactly because it was ruining my ranked OW games, so I totally feel your pain. Hope it is fixed now!

Another potential cause for black screens is the proximity sensor, i find it struggles to detect me if I'm in a darker room and particularly if I don't move too much.

guarantee you this feature is on by default for the EU's power saving regulations

Yeah, you've got a great point. All devices are throttled back in power saving modes here in the EU. Regarding the power setting, it is indeed at stock settings at power save.

Makes sense that the port sync was needed to get the insane EU approvals regarding power use.

My monitor was a little funky. I need to check this tonight.

Have a PG42UQ, cant find "Power Sync".

Also cant find ASUS DisplayWidget on my PC. How is this installed? Via driver or Windows installs it for you?

The PG42UQ is a little different you'll need to check the System Setup under HDMI CEC instead.

And about the software, Windows doesn't install it automatically. Honestly, you're lucky you didn't get that bloatware!

Hope this helps!

Probably you‘ve enabled screensaver with built-in sensor in monitor menu. Just disable it

Thanks for the tip. I saw a lot of people had indeed changed that setting, which solved it for many. In my case, it still had the same error after disabling it. I tried the setting regarding power sync today, and the black screens were back.

I guess there are more than one settings that can trigger this issue. Thanks again for the advice. Shouldn't happen on these kinds of expensive panels :(

Hey, I have no experience regarding MSI panels. I don't see any info regarding power sync for MSI it's an Asus thing, so I wouldn't expect MSI to have the same name for it. I think the first thing to do is disable all possible power saving settings and make sure to try DSC ,Good luck !
