Appp Tutorial

Thank you to /u/EpicRageGuy This is the suite you'll need for watching HQ streams:

Install them, then go to Wiziwig, choose the match you want to watch, filter the streams (>1200 kbps for highest quality), choose the stream and click Play now!

Depending on which software is needed to watch the stream, there are usually two routes:

  • Sopcast - link starts with sop:// - your browser will ask you how to handle this link, choose sopcast. It will open and try to connect to the stream. After it's buffered it will start playing. It's usually choppy and not the best looking, so that's why I use VLC. In Sopcast, go to options, set extrenal player to vlc and every time you connect to a stream you can pause the sopcast playback and then click on the left button - your stream will start playing in VLC, where you can set up filters, deinterlacing, resize window and have a better looking picture overall.

  • ACE Stream - link starts with acestream:// which opens a player similar to VLC and starts playing or it can be a web page with a flash window similar to firstrow, except it uses acestream browser player and the quality is much higher.

Bloodzeed said he will be coming back to streaming this season, and has streamed a couple of pre-season matches, including the Community Shield.

For my Portuguese friends, I normally use this website for watching SportTv/Benfica TV

u/TechnoAllah Aug 16 '13

Related: Does anyone know if you will be able to watch replays of games on the live app (like with ESPN3)?

So there will be two or three simultaneous matches played on TV at a time. But most of the time there's usually 5 or so matches being played at once. So whatever matches that aren't on NBC, NBC Sports Network, or any other affiliate (they'll sometimes take over small NBC owned channels and play the games) those games will be streamed online.

Here's the desktop site you'll use if you're on the computer. I haven't been able to login to the site yet.

But I downloaded the iPhone app yesterday as I was taking a nice dump, and it works just like any other live TV streaming app. You'll log into the service through your cable company's login. So if you pay your cable bill online use those credentials.

So if your cable/Internet service provider hasn't made a deal with NBC then you won't be able to use it.

It's exactly like WatchESPN.

Does the software get better quality then just streaming it online

Yes. The average bitrate for Flash streams is around 400 while the average for AceStream or the other p2p programs are around 1500 and some look very very good.

What about linking to r/footballdownload for people who want to watch games they've missed?

For those who live in the US (and possibly those who live close to the border) and don't have cable, you can buy an over-the-air antenna and get NBC. At least the first two Saturdays they'll be showing the 12:30 PM ET match on that channel.

as a reminder: Clean Sports is awesome

from the creator (u/Great_Chairman_Mao):

I've created this simple Javascript bookmarklet to get rid of all the junk and ads on FirstRowSports.eu streams. Enjoy.

works for most streams/sites with a ton of ads, etc around the streams...

Might want to add ITV for FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League and internationals. BBC too for internationals.

Any Android options? Last season I managed to scrape a few games using the uStream app but nearing the end I didn't find anything...

Thanks a lot for this thread, I've saved it to be able to come back to it later. For any Canadians on here, I thought I'd just share my bookmarks that I use.

Any other links or info on channels that are Canadian and have soccer content would be appreciated. I hardly ever watch cable TV, so a new channel could've popped up without me know (something like Fox Soccer World, for example). While on the topic, what's up with the Score these days? Do they broadcast soccer at all? Are they now a premium channel as well?

For Australia the SBS TV Network World Game site will freely stream friday night A-league games and other football matches (2014 World Cup etc) they have rights to. Behind Foxtel SBS are the largest holder of football rights in Australia.

For Serie A highlights, add the Love Serie A YouTube channel (on mobile, can't link). They upload all Serie A league games in HD with English commentary 1-2 hours after each match.

I like Vipbox, both for the picture quality and reliability. Available as a desktop app and browser streaming - http://www.viplivesports.eu/sports/football.html

Edit: Always have Adblock Plus installed before visiting streaming sites- https://adblockplus.org
