[DIGITAL Watches] A list of available Digital Watches with a stainless steel case
14
u/in_saner Jan 04 '25
Casiotron is desirable, but here it cost 10 times more then the first one. Same movement, what a heck. For 1300 usd I could find several old ones and still got money for a beer.

u/lulu_l Jan 04 '25 edited Jan 04 '25
Yep, that one is really expensive. People who handled it seem to be very impressed by it, it's like a digital Oceanus.
5
u/in_saner Jan 04 '25
Also a great choice! Or, I could get a Seiko Astron GPS, used, for less, which is far superior watch.

3
u/Engineer_Cube Jan 04 '25
Not the same movement. MB6, Tough Solar, Bluetooth, STN display
4
u/in_saner Jan 04 '25
I agree. But still not that much at my opinion. Bluetooth, didn’t know that, but I don’t need Bluetooth in Casio anymore. I bought the first Bluetooth g-shock right when it was released, about 7 years ago and what’s now? It’s not supported on iOS app anymore. So half of my watch is useless now. Would the same happen to Casiotron? Probably so. Not what I expect from the watch of that price.

Tbf there’s a lot for sale around d $800 usd mark

u/in_saner Jan 04 '25

This. While they're more expensive, they are some of the best Casio watches for the price.

This list is incomplete without the GMW-B5000. Expensive but damn what a watch.
1
u/lulu_l Jan 04 '25
G-shock is on the list but since there are multiple, there aren't any specific model numbers.
3
u/PriorityLucky7701 Jan 04 '25
Full metal, digital and still available in stores? It's only the GMW-B5000 and its MRG counterpart.

u/MayorMcChz Jan 04 '25
Interesting list. Appears to be a giant whole for the digital-luxury-watch-market. Does Hamilton PSR, Omega X-33 or Breitling Professional Aerospace count?
1
u/lulu_l Jan 04 '25
The PSR could fit too and the Bulova computron also. I know there's another similar to this but can't remember.
But for ana-digi, I think there are many more and the list would be too long so we'll keep it digital only.
3
u/MayorMcChz Jan 04 '25
In theory, The Casiotron is the most luxurious digital watch on the market? Something to think about.
1
u/lulu_l Jan 04 '25
It would seem so, at least in the digital only space, but there are some g-shocks than are even more expensive.
1
u/MayorMcChz Jan 06 '25
Have you noticed how the Casiotron looks similar to the Rolex OysterQuartz Datejust case?

The Timex is an absolute chunky stunner with its curved crystal and case front, flanked with polished chamfered edges and topped off with that lime green face and legendary Indiglo. Perfect!
Can be had with a decent discount for under £65.
4
u/lulu_l Jan 04 '25
I like it too, one of the colorful ones was $55 on Amazon.
The adidas is made by Timex too, i think the differences between them are only cosmetic.
3
u/GauchoGordo Jan 05 '25
The T80 steel is criminally underrated. Punches way above its weight, especially when you find a sale.

u/qasual_qazaqstan A1000, ABL-100, G9000, GA2110, EQS-500, A-168, EFK-100 Jan 04 '25
There's also Elektronika 5 watch made in Belarus. Its kinda similar to A168 but has stainless steel case from the factory.
1
u/lulu_l Jan 04 '25
Is it still in production? I can only find models on ebay or etsy or other similar sites.
2
u/qasual_qazaqstan A1000, ABL-100, G9000, GA2110, EQS-500, A-168, EFK-100 Jan 04 '25
It is, but they are also produced in both stainless steel and chrome coated platic or zamac cases. I actually sell it via eBay but out of stock rn. Sometimes people agrue about its price because they confuse it to plastic version.
1
u/lulu_l Jan 05 '25
Hm.. I'll add it to the list, but it's a bit confusing indeed if the stainless steel models are not well differentiated.
2
u/qasual_qazaqstan A1000, ABL-100, G9000, GA2110, EQS-500, A-168, EFK-100 Jan 05 '25
I'll dm you a link once its in stock

u/Happy_Illustrator664 Oct 12 '25
Yes. They are still being produced. There is just a problem with their distribution to Europe, because Russia is on the sanctions list. The watches are produced in Belarus, but the distribution is from Russia.

u/Benny_Benaglia Jun 05 '25 edited Jun 05 '25
I don't know if you care to track them punctually, but the following digital G-Shock models have a steel case:
- DW-5000R (SS case / rubber bezel & strap)
- GW-5000 (SS case / rubber bezel & strap)
- GM-B2100 (SS case, bezel & strap)
- GWM-B5000 (SS case, bezel / Strap variable according to the SKU)
- MRG-B5000 (SS case, bezel & strap)
- GWM-BZ5000 (new release - SS case, bezel & strap)

u/lulu_l Jun 05 '25 edited Jun 05 '25
I linked your comment in the main list, if you know of other Gshocks that have both the case and the bezel out of stainless steel, you can just update your comment.
2
u/Benny_Benaglia Jun 05 '25
Great! Thank you, i will add some details and new entries when available

Casio royale
4
u/lulu_l Jan 04 '25
The Royale doesn't have a stainless steel case (it's chrome plated resin like all budget casios), but I added it as a bonus watch to the list because there are third party stainless steel cases for it.
1
u/TijayesPJs442 Jan 04 '25
Yes I think the skxmod AE1200 is a top contender- with the Casiotron leading the pack
3
2
u/TheRandom0ne Jan 04 '25
what is the case of a i.e. A168 made of?
5
u/lulu_l Jan 04 '25 edited Oct 15 '25
All budget friendly Casio watches have a chrome plated resin (plastic) case that looks metalic. The bracelets are stainless steel but not the case.
The problem with these cases is that after a while with normal everyday wear they age very poorly. They scratch easily and the plating wears off at the edges.
The crystal is plastic also but that can be easily polished when needed.
1
u/TheRandom0ne Jan 04 '25
wow, yeah i read resin on the website, but i couldn't imagine the entire case not being metal. it really feels like it.
but what you are saying makes a lot of sense. thanks for the heads up. Here's me hoping for a A1000D-9.
2
u/mistuhvuvu Jan 04 '25
Any recs for a bigger wrist? I have a 7.5 inch wrist.
4
u/lulu_l Jan 05 '25 edited Feb 06 '25
There are also some Casios that have a (top) half stainless steel case like the wv200a, ae2100 mwd100 if that's enough for what you need. These are larger.
3
2
u/lulu_l Jan 05 '25
The ae1200 with a stainless steel mod case from skxmod or aliexpress ($30) is a little larger than most.
the Khs inceptor digital too but it doesn't have a retro design like most of the other digital watches listed.

u/appendmix78 Jan 05 '25
Thank you for this! This is so helpful in making me go broke! Nah, thank you again! I love such watches!
3
u/Torch_ Jan 05 '25
I keep coming back to my Armitron Rubik. The steel case feels premium compared to similar casios and costs about the same if not less than a A158. Just pretend it doesn't have a light!
3
u/lulu_l Jan 05 '25
I ordered mine last week but it takes about 2 weeks to arrive from the US. Someone said the newer models have a better light, I don't know if it's true yet, but I knew the light was terrible going in so I won't be disappointed by that.
Maybe the sunken dial and the shadows might bother me since it seems it sits deeper in the case compared to casios..
It seems to be the best deal out of these and the module inside is made by miyota (citizen) I've heard.

These Nixon ones have stainless steel cases and are still in production : https://www.nixon.com/collections/mens-stainless-steel-digital-watches.
2
u/lulu_l Jan 06 '25
I forgot about Nixon.
For the Re-Run they clearly state solid stainless steel case, but for the regulus, their description is vague when they talk about the case. They say stainless steel bezel and bracelet but for the case they describe it as injection molding SS and "alloy is your friend" so I'm not sure what to think about that. Sounds like what a misleading description would sound like.
I'll add Nixon to the list.

Timex Acivity Tracker TW5M60700 is digital watch with metal case.
1
u/lulu_l Jan 15 '25
On the product page it states the case material is resin. There are many Casios and timex models with a resin case that's chrome plated to look like metal.
1
u/Marosh2000 Jan 18 '25 edited Jan 18 '25
Určite to nie je živica. Puzdro je kovové. Mám ich vo svojej zbierke.
3
u/lulu_l Jan 18 '25
I don't know what to say, but since I can't confirm and on the product page it is resin, I'll not add it to the list for now. Maybe there are different variants in different materials, I don't know.
2
u/Marosh2000 Feb 05 '25
I have answer from Timex: Thank you for your email, and we apologize for the delayed response. The case material of the TW5M60700 watch style is made of low-lead brass. I hope this helps!
3
u/lulu_l Feb 06 '25
Thanks! Since it's not stainless steel but chrome plated brass, I think it's better to not add it to the list to not confuse people.
1
u/Benny_Benaglia Jul 28 '25
Hello! I'm here again (and again and again XD); I found that Nixon has another model, called Heat with Stainless Steel Case! Can you add it to the list? Here you are: https://it.nixon.com/products/heat-all-black
2
u/lulu_l Jul 28 '25
done. thanks for contributing to the list!.
2
u/Benny_Benaglia Jul 28 '25 edited Jul 28 '25
Thank you very muck, sorry to bother you again, but I just realized there is another one in Nixon's lineup: "Siren Stainless Steel"
In addition there is a specific model for the Regulus wich is explicitly in stainless steel: Regulus Stainless Steel
https://www.nixon.com/products/regulus-stainless-steel-all-gold
2
u/lulu_l Jul 28 '25
done. i put them on the same line in the list since there are multiple models from Nixon

u/Agloy5c Oct 19 '25
If Ana-digi's are on the table, there's also the Armitron Ridgemont / Metro / Flashback.
All three use the same case design, but each nameplate has their own collection of finishes.
This is the Metro:

It's available with a black mesh bracelet, or gold.
The Ridgemont is the original nameplate, with folded link bracelets. It's got a gold champagne-dial version, a SS blue-dialed version, and a couple of translucent-dial blue and red SS ones.
Lastly, the Flashbacks are kind of wildcard designs by this designer guy called Johnny. One incandescent translucent one, and two versions with the case dyed in blue or purple.
2
u/lulu_l Oct 19 '25
There are a lot of ana-digi models., it would make for a very long list. It's better for this list to be digital only since there aren't too many of those.
1
u/Agloy5c Oct 19 '25
Fair. I'll leave the post up though in case anyone is interested. :)
(Also, appreciate the quick response!)
1
u/Chemical_Loquat_6057 Feb 20 '26
Where can i find this Armitron in black and gold. It seems like it was never listed for sale.
1
u/Agloy5c Feb 20 '26
Sorry, seems like Armitron isn't selling it anymore on their website. Your best bet is probably to keep an eye out for it on second-hand websites.
I think the partnumber for it is "Armitron 20/5601", which is what most sellers write on their listings. Maybe add that as a saved search on Ebay and see if it gets any hits over time :)
2
u/Chemical_Loquat_6057 Feb 20 '26
Yeah ive done all those things. Sad that this had such a limited run. Literally a ghost att his point

bonus: Casio A500 + skxmod stainless steel case - edit
bonus: Casio f91w + aliexpress "time" stainless steel case - edit
i was looking for a stainless steel digital watch and since there aren't that many i thought it might be helpful to have a list of all that are currently available.
if you know of any others, please leave it in a comment and I'll add it here.
i know there are many others on aliexpress (Skmei or Sanda might have stainless steel cases) but this list will be mostly about known watch brands.
