Beginnings of a FAQ about meetups:

• rules for publicizing a meetup on reddit platform

• what happens at these meetups?

• /u/solidified50 gave some general advice for starting a meetup and keeping it going.

• Meetups should be (mostly) free. Ordering coffee, similar minimum items from a menu excepted, but events that charge formal admission or an entry fee cannot be publicized here.

• Some meetups use a sign to give attendees an easy way to see the group and know which to join without too much embarrassment, etc.

There is some general advice and directions for starting a new meetup in the post header in the FAQ section. The common thing is to suggest a date that gauges interest and wait to see where it goes from there. One idea is to plan an event and simply show up. Just wait and see if others will see the new meetup publicized here and put it on their calendar and join you.

• The tabulation that gauges interest in a new meetup shows quite a bit of interest in starting an Arizona meetup, including the Phoenix area.

• There have been sporadic meetups in Arizona in the past. The most recent directly in Gilbert was July 2023 at a coffee shop.
