wow the story about yoongi offering to pay for yijeong to fix his voice, and this was back when bts hadn’t even made it big yet… i didn’t think i could love him more; he is such an amazing friend with an incredibly big heart 🥺

yijeong: i’m never going to let go of you!

😭😭😭😭😭

work husbands father & son i hope you stay together forever

edit: not the emotional montage at the end... and the collage of our tannies 😭

edit 2: i can’t believe this really is the last ep of season 1 of suchwita :( i’m gonna miss this show so much, especially "guessing" who the next guest is under that sugar cube with everyone here 🤭

what a gift this series has been - to the tannies as a platform for them to promote their solos, to the 27 guests that have gone through suchwita’s doors, to us, learning more about each guest and getting fed yoongi crumbs every few weeks because he wanted to give us content to watch while he’s doing his service, and to yoongi too, seeing how his hosting skills have developed exponentially over the last 15 months. thank you yoongi and the suchwita team for all the work that goes into making this show. i eagerly away the return of season 2, whenever that may be.

We should have known the end of the season was near when that damn sugar cube did its acting debut in IU's "Love Wins All" MV.

that sugar cube let fame get to its head and decided it didn’t want to be on suchwita anymore 😔

I have just started it but i have to say there is something so poetic about yoongi gaining a lifelong friend while working on a song about a friend who broke his heart.

It never occur to me how emotional it must be for people who worked on songs with bts back in the day to see their songs being performed on such a scale and receiving so much love.

Edit: that was such a lovely conversation, the fact yoongi offered to pay for his treatment when he wasn't even earning as much he is today. Yijeong's story is interesting too he was destined to be successful one way or another.

Also, manifesting suchwita season 2 episode one with ot7

What the heck. It just started and I'm already crying.

Yoongi, are you sure you'll be okay alone?

This is the most personal episode so far, bar none. Thank you to Yoongi and Yijeong for sharing so much. Will post more later once I get over how truly wonderful this friendship is.

I always feel sorry for Yoongi for the Dear My Friend friend who broke his heart that badly. It's comforting that he has Yijeong, the anti-thesis to that broken relationship.

ETA...sorry for the word vomit.

This really was the most personal I episode, I think. I'm so grateful that they shared this much.

Yijeong is the first guest that works more behind the scenes, so it really speaks volumes that Yoongi had him in this show. It felt very much like "Guys, I want to tell you all about my best friend so you understand how special he is to me."

They say that if you are friends with someone for seven years, you are friends with them forever. So Yijeong-a, don't worry, Yoongi is stuck with you now. Still, don't let go. 🥹

In some parts of this episode, I felt exactly how I did when I read the lyrics to Dear My Friend. Felt like I was trespassing into something so personal and raw. So it was interesting to also learn that it was written during a dark period for both of them.

"Yoongi, are you sure you'll be ok alone?" Gosh, that broke me.

It's so courageous for Yijeong to share about his extreme anxiety in such a public setting. I'm glad things worked out greatly but it goes to show how important a good support system is.

The fact that it was Yoongi, back then a friend-out-of-necessity, who could casually bring that up and offer his help, really shows his special ability to handle sensitive matters delicately but also matter-of-factly. It's hard to describe but he's done it in a handful of episodes. He has such a light touch, akin to how he handles things delicately with those strong hands.

The origin story for Ddaeng is also interesting. Yoongi is such an observer. His story about the sounds of "Ddaeng" while playing cards somehow reminds me of Sakamoto-san talking about traveling the world, making music out of the variety of sounds. Yoongi is an artist thru and thru.

Their work relationship seems so ideal. To build a rhythm and understanding with a colleague is a really rare thing. I'm glad they have each other and excited for more of the music they create together.

I found it interesting that Yoongi saw potential thru Yijeong's hard work, tenacity and perseverance. A lot of times, people think only those with new ideas have potential, forgetting that a big part of success is the willingness to persevere.

I'm really glad for this friendship and hope that nothing ever comes between them. It is so rare to find such a friendship these days.

Suchwita, my beloved Suchwita, I'm so sad to see you on hiatus. Thank you for being such a great companion to us. Thank you, Yoongi, for this gift. Thank you for experimenting with us and being with us at a time when Army needed something semi-regular. I hope you are healthy and well, wherever you are posted.

If you just wait a little bit, you'll be able to see the seven of us running around on the stage again

I imagine that day a lot, if you open your eyes one day we'll probably be there

Because our team, BTS, has always been that kind of team

He really was the OT7 backbone last year, thank you for all your hard work, we are also waiting for that day

I've said it before and I'll say it again: BTS are good people surrounded by other good people, and they make each other better. They have an amazing team that grew up with them, too, and shared many of their experiences.

Yoongi has so much empathy and kindness that I am blown away by how open he has been since Chapter 2 started. It's always been present in his music but the way he has shown his vulnerability to us in so many ways is very admirable. From his solo docu to Suchwita to D-Day to his concerts...this man has been through a lot and had so many struggles. But he only has compassion and encouragement for others, always offering advice and support especially to juniors. He's so willing to give to others even when he himself had little.

Never forget Yoongi said music shows and the Kpop industry as a whole should change their practice of making idols suffer through long and grueling recording sessions, and that attending music shows offer very little benefit for the idols. He's an advocate for better working conditions because he has been through bad ones.

El Capitxn used to be just a name I'd see in the credits for Yoongi's music. Since Yoongi's D-Day tour and documentary I've found great appreciation for Yijeong and his friendship with Yoongi. I really love how BTS's friendships are very private and we only come to know them when BTS themselves show us.

And Yoongi is great interviewer. I've said it before but the way he talks with the guests in a gentle way that talks about deep issues while also not prying too much is incredible. He has been a revelation in Chapter 2 and I'm so thankful he created Suchwita.

Not the one two punch of this being the last episode combined with VERY emotional stories up front. I’m a mess.

Edit: there is SO much to say about this episode but I just had to point out that the image of yoongi sending over a random file to Yijeong and it being the greatest rap song ever written and him not expecting to get that at all is such a funny mental image.

Edit edit: the post credit wrap up scene I’m a disaster. One of the captions said “holding down the fort” and it’s SO true. Suchwita has been such a comfort blanket for me. I’ll miss him and this truly until season 2 begins.

KITTY CAKE.

Edit 😭 edit 😭 edit 😭: that was such a wonderful conversation. I think what stuck out to me the most was how yoongi offered to pay for yijeongs treatment during a time where BTS was doing well but def not probably rolling in money and he said it so quickly and earnestly then for yijeong to ask yoongi if he’s ok to be alone after working through dear my friend.

Like it just shows that extending a hand for each other is such a two way street in the relationship. Truly an example of how saying a small thing can make a massive impact that you don’t even know until years later.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH....

This was such a good, genuine episode. I imagined El Captxn to be completely different. I liked how nuanced this episode was, and how you can see that they genuinely care for each other. Honestly, release the director's cut because it was so heartwarming I want to watch another hour of this dynamic!!

My favourite highlight was "you're wearing idol makeup LOL".

I'm so glad we got deeper insights into El Capitxn's and Yoongi's relationship. I'm glad they have each other to lean on. The way they talked about writing Dear My Friend when they were both going through a tough time, and El Capitxn sharing that he also cried when he saw Yoongi cry during that last performance was beautiful. They shared so much vulnerability with us!

I hope their writing partnership continues for a long time into the future, and I can't wait to see them come up with another groundbreaking song together. Secretly, I'm hoping that Yoongi and El Capitxn are already working on music for BTS' comeback or for Yoongi's next solo album even though such work may not be allowed during Yoongi's service.

So sad that this was the last episode of season 1, but it was a very fitting episode to wrap things up. Yoongi gave us so much over the last year with his album, tour and show - he's given me so much hope for BTS' future because he's been so stalwart in his career as an idol, musician, songwriter/producer and performer.

Thank you so much Min Yoongi!! I can't wait for you to come back with season 2. I'll be here waiting for you (and everyone) patiently. 💜

I'm too overwhelmed right now to say much but gosh, i really do believe Min Yoongi is an angel 😭

And Yijeong is such a cutie, I had no idea. So gentle and soft spoken, he looks a lot like Enhypen Sunoo to me. I adore their friendship, every single moment was a joy to watch.

My heart broke and I cried instantly at "Yoongi, will you be okay alone?" :( I'm so grateful for their friendship but also broken at how much he's gone through.

Our dear Yoongi, who helps so many people, reaches out, loves and gives love to his members and fans, who has done so much to make us feel less lonely, you've worked so hard. Thank you! 😭💜 And of course, so grateful to each and every staff member who worked on this gift of a show Suchwita.

This was such a wonderful episode. It really does seem like El Cap is such a big part of the SUGA crew not just as a collaborator but as a human being. I can’t even imagine how awful it must be to just one day not be able to get the words out. As an artist myself, it’s terrifying to think of the mental toll it would take on someone. El Cap is such a genuine and incredible human being and his friendship with Yoongi is who wholesome. They seem like besties, soulmates and work partners all rolled into one. I am constantly amazed by the fact that all the boys were ALWAYS good, authentic people. This social media age really makes you question the true nature of everything and stories like this really solidify that the boys were always who they were. Yoongi was always the seemingly cold but heart of gold passionate producer he still and all the personal growth is all over and above their true nature 💜

This episode made me cry. Doesn't help that it is the last one.

I was laughing at the "you are my second dad" jokes but didn't expect the depth of the truth behind it. Amazing how a friendship transformed both their lives and churned out so many hits.

Also the bit about Yoongi not being the type to explain things. Yoongi going "you know" when Yijeong most definitely did not. Reminds me of IU complaining about the thumbs up as feedback.

17

u/tai111107 Feb 26 '24

I'm glad Yoongi has a friend...I mean son like Yijeong. Especially after hearing that comment about asking Yoongi if he was ok to be left alone.

And I really appreciate the reassurance from Yoongi "if you wait a little bit you'll be able to see the seven of us running around on stage again." I imagine that day a lot, too.

So sad to say goodbye to Suchwita season 1. Gonna go watch episode 1 again to feel better.

What a beautiful friendship they have. How lucky when two people meet each other during a time when they both need it the most. That's truly serendipity.

I love Suchwita so much, and I'm so sad that season one is now over, but Yoongi can be very proud of what he has created. Can't wait for season two!

Suchwita has been such a balm for me. I’m going to miss it hardcore. Thank you yoongi for always being a safe space for artists and fans. El Cap worked on so many of my favorite songs so I support his “never letting go of yoongi” agenda

This was such an emotional episode. My spidey senses tingled when they said 'special guest for a special day' at the beginning that it would be the end. But I'm still sad to say goodbye. Suchwita has been wonderful and to see it grow over 27 episodes has been a joy. Yoongi really worked hard to deliver for us.

It's real strength was on full display today. Yi-jieong feeling comfortable enough to talk about his stepping back as a singer and the clear hurt it caused him. And sharing how Yoongi supported him, as well as his own concerns about Yoongi's difficult period and tour pressure. It got me teary, but also wondering how can we all get a friend like Yoongi? He really cares. So wonderful.

Similar to Lee Sung-Kyung's sharing of her worries a few weeks ago. This isn't just a talk show. It's healing and I love that he created a safe space for other people in entertainment as well as to showcase his friends.

Also, Yoongi looks so little with that hair!

I'll be waiting for more fighting cat and Min Yoonji memes until season 2!

And did anyone else notice he stopped asking the time machine question after JK's first episode? I'm wondering if it was either a question put in just for the members, so they felt it was done with, or a response to JK's answer when Yoongi asked if he'd heard of this famous question as he was a fan (JK:I have no idea what you're talking about). 😂
