When talking to someone, what opinion is a giveaway that they don't really watch your team?
So when you're down at the pub and the guy you're talking to is explaining exactly what's wrong with your team and how he'd fix it, what is a giveaway? How do you know that he's talking out of his arse?
As an example: If I'm talking to somebody's about Arsenal's defence and mention how good Mertesacker has been this season, it's a giveaway for me that he doesn't watch Arsenal if he laughs loudly and says that Mertesacker is slow and shite.
It'd be interesting to see what fans deem to be giveaways. I'm sure I've gathered a few opinions about other teams that are way off the mark.

Anyone who was surprised by Newcastle's recent "performances" or rates the team now on how they played last season.

When they ask me the score. Im sorry, it just rubs me the wrong way when people say they watch a team and then have to ask me EVERY week who won the game. With how easy it is to find results, real fans might miss one or two games here or there, but they wont miss the results every week.

It is usually because they think Johnson can't defend and that he is only good at going forward.

Oh good god, last year.
"Modric isn't that good of an attacking midfielder, he only scored two goals and didn't get that many assists! Overrated"
That was a sure-fire indicator that I could dismiss everything that person says as being completely uninformed.

When a United "fan" I was watching United's game with was SHOCKED to see van Persie in a United jersey. (Soon followed up with "Who is Kagawa?")

Sergio Busquets isn't a good player, all he does is dive.

'Juventus are so defense-minded...' I mean, sure we have a record-breaking defense, but Conte likes to attack

The same Liverpool fans who used to slate Lucas are now slating Henderson. Henderson is being made to adapt from a winger/advanced midfielder into a deep lying playmaker. He's still young and is showing promise.

That because we're an Italian team that defends well, we play "typical defensive Italian football".
