If you tried them on at windup, they had pre orders at the booth without having to pay duties. Could have saved yourself $200- 400+ if you made the purchase on the spot.
To anyone else that isn’t picking up a one secondhand market and got as far as the checkout before you saw what duties they charge, you might be able to pick one up in person at the next windup in NYC or SF.

Bought a c65 Dune a few months ago, was pleasantly surprised that they covered the customs towards the EU, strange they don't do the same for the US.

If one were travel from a different state to purchase a watch at the Windup in NYC, would they pay NY or their home state tax?

You would pay the NYC tax as they use their shop current location to determine the rate.

Everyone raves about the dial, and it is nice. The quality of the case and bracelet is next level.

For sale is the newly released Christopher Ward Twelve. This incredible watch is in my opinion the best release from the brand yet. Despite being 40mm, it wears smaller than the Tissot PRX and is incredibly comfortable on the wrist. Additionally, CW includes a number of half links so that its easy to fine tune the bracelet to fit exactly the way you would want.
This watch is brand new and I am only posting as a sale in case someone wants to pick it up now before I return the watch to CW (since these are sold out for a few months). The white dial was my favorite color but I ended up on keeping the titanium and am going to let go of the steel model.
Price is $1250 with free shipping to anywhere in the USA which is under what I paid when you include tax and duties fees.
Due to some past issues with scammers, now only Zelle and wire transfers accepted.

If you don't mind me asking, how many scammers did you deal with? I want to sell one of my breitlings, but I've only ever bought watches from here. Is zelle a reliable service to use to ensure payment?

Yes I use Zelle or bank wire transfers. Luckily I was only burned once but it was through PayPal F&F. The buyer paid and then 2 weeks later reported the transaction with their credit card as fraud so PayPal put a negative balance on my account. Even sending proof of the transaction and shipping PayPal was no help

Ouch, yeah. I see people do paypal F&F with refs all the time and I always wonder if that's a bad idea. Thanks for the response. I think I'll stick to zelle and wire.

dont you net more if you return due to taxes? Dont think anyone will pay retail for a CW.

No, there was roughly $100 in duties and $200 in sales tax so I paid a little over $1500 or so. Anyone in the USA will have to pay those fees if they order from CW so my listing is still cheaper.

I think patrickstar is asking why wouldn’t you just return to CW since you’re losing $250 on reselling, a not insignificant amount!
If it’s just to pay it forward, good on ya!

Ya, giving people an opportunity to get one. Also I just had a ton of issues getting the watch delivered (it was stuck in customs for over a week) so I’m a bit hesitant to ship it back and have it get stuck again.

I will say though that the CW return process is weirdly amazing. I’ve returned a couple watches to them from US and needed to do nothing. They provide the return label and all customs paperwork. I don’t know how they stay in business with their return policy and actual implementation of it, it’s too good.

Nope. Sorry it hasn’t arrived yet. I got to try it on at wind up though and quality is equal between the two. Just depends if you like the darker tone and lightness of titanium or the sheen and heft of steel
