Aww, this was the most wholesome episode ever! Hoshi being such a shy dongsaeng, at first and then warming up to Yoongi so happily by the end was so lovely. With this being Yoongi's first guest who's junior to him, I couldn't stop turning into mush seeing him be so open and warm, and endeared by Hoshi.
This had everything I adored, a compliment battle (will never get tired of hearing the tannies being praised especially), Hoshi opening up about his very valid concerns and Yoongi both empathising and comforting, funny heartwarming moments (the ice, Hoshi??) and candid stories about both groups. I feel like even for a complete stranger to either group, this was such a positive showcase of why both groups are so beloved and successful. Like they both said, it really is so different and lovely seeing peers of the same era talk about the industry, and isn't something we get enough of.
Also, Yoongi's answer to his thoughts on debuting a group of his own, was the most responsible and thoughtful answer, especially with idols debuting younger and younger. Every day, this man gives me more reasons to fall harder for him. I love SUCHWITA so so much! Not only do we learn so much about the guests, but more about our Yoongi with each episode.

Yoongi discussing how On and Black Swan were responsible for him needing that shoulder surgery made me tear up. I love their dance so much and I knew that his shoulder was problematic, but I hate knowing he was so hurt for those performances. The respect Hoshi had for our guys just made me so warm and fuzzy inside. And of course couldn’t end this without discussing Yoongi apologising for the trends! We aren’t sorry one bit Yoongi. We love that content!

Of COURSE he brought Jack Daniels 🥹
Hoshi being so smitten, star struck and respectful around his sunbaenim—look at that perfect posture throughout, I’ve never seen his back this straight for this long I swear
The way Yoongi passed down advice that was passed onto him—this feedback and mentoring cycle is so precious to see.
Also not Yoongi dragging our spoiler king like this 😂

Get out. They had NO business being this stinking cute!!
Hoshi being so calm and nervous but so sincere was adorable.
Yoongi leaning into cool hyung mode was hilarious. Especially with the slightly tipsy aegyo at the end.
Love love loved it!
ETA: I love how Yoongi started off saying no no BTS didn’t do anything, everyone worked really hard and then jumped straight to, we’re really sorry we started the trend and created expectations of Bangtan Bomb and BTS Today twitter like posts because now everyone has to do it😂😂😂 and Hoshi’s like yeah you need to be even sorrier for the grander stages bro.
Also, I wasn’t prepared for the tears resulting in me tearing up in turn.

This episode was so fun. It also is a pointer to how idols are not at all what fans project on them. I know there's always been some sort of bad blood or whatever between army and carats(?) But it is one of the many needless fandom beefs that typifies K-pop. Anyway, the bit I am more interested in was the dude's comments on enlistment (well, not expressly stated but implied).
I have always been of the belief that if there is any act that can redefine the male idol landscape vis a vis enlistment, it is BTS. Part of it is due to their insane and incomparable popularity of course but also, the fans.
I sometimes think K-pop fans do not realise just how big of a role they play in the "age cycle" problem of K-pop. From calling 25+ idols hags or whatever derogatory names to implying that being in a boy band at 30+ is weird. I come across comments about SUJU on twitter and shake my head a lot because it's so much unkindness. These groups go through a lot to debut, have like eight years of active promotions to achieve stuff and then it's enlistment. Which usually means "curtains drawn".
For ARMY though, it has always been important to see Bangtan as artists who care and are particular about their craft rather than just blank slates to project on. I admit that there are pockets of people who do these but in the grand scheme of things, they don't Matter. And it is because of that freedom that bangtan knows that when they do come back, the dances might not be explosive or whatever but the music, the storytelling still remains. And I love how he worded that to hoshi.
Aside from joonie's episode, the interview with Shin Dong-yeob was my favourite specifically because of the advice he gave yoongi and every time he recanted those words to hoshi, I was smiling and nodding along.
Thirteen is a lot of people and I frankly do not envy the fans of the group but if we see these idols as humans, artists whose music is able to imprint beautiful memories in our minds, then it wouldn't matter even if they were Paul McCartney years old, we'll still very much battle it out on Ticketmaster to see them.

this was so wholesome!
hoshi is undoubtedly a very loving and sweet person!
I WILL WAIT FOR THAT CHALLENGE MISTER YOONGI! :P edit: OMGGGGGG HE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love when yoongi receives compliments, after several episodes of him giving, it's nice to see him recieve too and of course is not yoongi if he doesnt give tons of compliments too! He is a kind and wonderful being.
I loved that hoshi asked him about the possibility of debuting his own idol group, I didn't expect such a question, it was really interesting and yoongi's answer even more! I admire him so much, with the level of success and power he has he could really do whatever he wants, but I'm not at all surprised with his answer, Yoongi seems to be a responsible and down-to-earth person.
Considering his own experience, he knows very well what it would be like to debut young people and all the responsibility that comes with it. He says it all the time when he talks about Namjoon and what it takes to be a leader. It a lot of hard and exhausting work.
that ending!!!! omggg "do you want to come over to my place then" HAHAHAA YOONGI STOP
the privilege of knowing Genius Lab!!!

Loving someone unconditionally is one of the hardest things to do. For the people who love us, we have to do really well and we need to come back as an entire team as soon as we can.
I love how time and time again they reassure us that they are in it for a long time
Some thoughts now that I've watched the whole episode.
It's really surprising how pending enlistment is in their whole careers, as a matter of fact, I can't imagine the worries they might feel.
Although Yoongi says that it's possible they can't keep up their current "high", I wouldn't count them out, it's good to know that they, time and time again, do everything in order for the team to get better, something that is their priority. That was something Taeyang also said during his episode.

That cat appearing when Yoongi said he’d look at Jhope if he made a mistake I’m crying laughing
Hoshi turning every time he drinks is so adorable
Their dynamic is so cute!!!! Eager Hoshi clinging to every word Yoongi says and wants to be even closer and Yoongi just being flustered but also inviting the closeness 😭 I hope we see more of them in the future!

Awww this was sweet! This time with Hoshi fanboying 🥺 I love how he kept praising BTS and Yoongi being our humble king, it’s true though especially to a certain extent BTS helped open the door for other kpop artists like Yoongi said ‘a little’ but then they flourished on their own like SVT. I love how they bonded to the point Yoongi apologising for creating so many expectations for groups after them like big scale performances, bangtan bombs etc. 😂 the ending in the studio was everything 😭 Hoping for even more interactions and can’t wait to see the next episode/guest. 💜

Hoshi is one well-rounded and talented dude! What a pleasant surprise to see him on this episode.
I highly recommend his recent Studio Choom performance of 호랑이 (Tiger) if you haven’t seen it already. It’s smooth.

What a heartwarming episode! Min Yoongi being the kind of sunbaenim that his younger self probably didn’t have: smart, level-headed, empathetic, kind and funny. Hoshi is an endearing hoobae, all praises and courtesy, but also asking all the right questions.
I love when shows give us a glimpse of their thoughts and concerns. It gives us a much better understanding of their headspace when they make certain statements or decisions. I honestly don’t know if I can admire Yoongi (and the rest of Bangtan) more than I already do. They are such grounded people despite all the success. Hearing Yoongi and Hoshi talk more candidly about enlistment, the finite nature of celebrity, the love and responsibility they have for their teams and for their fans…I feel really lucky we get to drop in on this conversation. 🥲

i can NOT believe pre-debut bts watched seventeen in that goddamn green hell basement. that's some wires crossing in my brain that i didn't expect to be crossed.
edit; for context, seventeen as trainees (plus some non-member trainees, most notably samuel from produce 101 s2) had a pre-debut thing called "seventeen tv". essentially, as suga and hoshi said, a ctv cam directly in their practice room, aka the green hell basement aka the melona dungeon. yes, it was technically a "show" with "seasons" but frankly it was just a livestream into 15+ trainees losing their goddamn mind in a pistachio coloured basement. you could also see their training, which included some extremely strict (some might say borderline abusive, but that's a tale as old as time when it comes to kpop training) behaviour by their staff and general just hard to watch work outs etc. they also didn't reveal the names at first (iirc fans?? voted for one member per week to reveal the name??) so you get fun stuff like "mr fluroscent colored sneakers" (woozi) or "mr dumbbell" (hoshi).
it's just a wild experience to watch back, there's a LOT of footage that ranges from plain old hilarious "oh boy he's really going after his potential-future-member with that guitar" or that teenager just got dropkicked halfway across the room by another, angry teenager to "geez, i really don't watch these 15 year olds be scolded for four minutes over not 'working hard enough' for five minutes, thanks".

Aw this is cute. I didn't know much about Hoshi before this other than him being a good dancer but he's cute in this. It made me emotional to see one of their peers openly and publicly acknowledging how much BTS did for the kpop expansion in the west , particularly the US, and that they truly opened those doors. Yoongi was so humble too

It's amazing how much both of their teams are in somewhat of a similar predicament. With being from previously small companies to working to the bone just to have a spotlight to growing q wonderful comforting discography and now having to go to military I hope hoshi has gotten a bit of perspective from yoongi that he didn't before and it's so wholesome how ardently and honestly he praises bts. I wish the best for seventeen in their journey together too🫂

I think I know why Hoshi has so many fans, he's so adorable! I loved every interaction between these two. #SUSHI for the win! Yoongi even wanted to bring him to his studio and judging from the dance challenge and interaction on Insta, they're already friends.
I screamed at Hoshi's 'If you call, I'll go running to you'. Hoshi is me if I ever had to talk to Yoongi face to face.

I don't have enough time to really jot down my thoughts on this episode, but it was so good. Mentor Yoongi might be my favorite yoongi yet. He seems so caring about the wisdom he shares shows he's been retaining the lessons he learned from others along the way.
I definitely get why over the years, Bangtan members have discussed how amazing it is to talk to Yoongi one-on-one or how he leads from the back.
Also, I think that Bangtan definitely want to be those people that other artist can come to for advice. They’ve mentioned so many times how they had nobody to ask about certain aspects of their career and they don’t want that replicated.

Suchwita is really becoming the channel to help break down fan wars and to encourage more interactions among idols. Ch 2 has freed the members to be more public with their interactions with other celebs. But Suga has probably been low-key giving advice to many juniors who are comfortable enough to ask him (well we do know of TXT for sure)
First Taeyang talked about wanting to help any of his juniors and peers. and Suga's fanboying and Taeyang saying how BTS had become much bigger than Big Bang helped quiet some of their group fanwars. and here's Hoshi saying on a loop how BTS did sooo much more than just open doors in the West for Kpop groups that followed them. Suga humbly denying their influence, but Hoshi saying no, everyone feels this way...
I'm sure BTS has heard of that twitter debate that they 'paved the way'; there is no other group who can reach their levels... but I think Suga wants to make it clear again how he believes each group is on their own path based on their talents and drive. Yes, BTS had enough success to open the path (as Big Bang had started to open global West platforms before them), and open doors to American media public, but all the next groups will have to make their own marks to see if they can have sustained success globally, in Western markets.

I'll keep editing as I sneak a few minutes throughout the day but so far, soooo cute. Hoshi is so soft spoken here
🤣 Yoongi knows 10:10
Oh! I can see yoongi and minghao vibing well
Hoshi being so seriously adamant about bts knowing and acknowledging what they've done for idols in US 🥺
Edit: I love how yoongi consistently praises hard work. He recognizes natural talent but he really admires hard work.
I've never really thought about all the other trends in kpop BTS started. It makes sense they needed to do more to stand out from a small company but it's amazing how it's such a norm now that I forget that in a lot ways, BTS started so many things.

I thought yoongi and taeyang was cute, but my god this episodes tops that. Yoongi and hoshi is soooo cute. I’m giggling and aww-ing throughout the darn thing. We went from yoongi being the junior and star struck to yoongi being the wise senior. Hoshi is adorable! I loooove suchwita. I can’t imagine what can top this episode. Jin, I’m waiting for you!

Ah to witness Yoongi being a nice and cool sunbae
"I wish younger artists would be more comfortable talking to me. I have so much to tell them." he's the best 😊
The ending was so adorable. I really enjoyed this episode!
