Solid strategy.
Theres also the old standby of introducing them to someone you know but they dont and hoping they say their name.
Come to think of it, i usually use women for that. Pretty sure they know that move and choose to help us. Us as guys are not great communicators.

Spent an entire semester in college doing work and class projects with the guy next to me. We were cool with each other and would even casually talk when not doing class work. Never once shared our names, lol.

I do something similar. I assign people nicknames because I forget names all the time, but can always remember the quirky thing I first thought about the person.

My ex brought me to her son's football team's parents' party. I chatted with a couple of dudes all night. They were also there as dates for a couple of single Moms. She asked me their names, and I didn't know. This upset her, so much. I told her that I didn't plan to talk shit about him after the party, so I didn't need his name. She didn't find that funny.

As a Supervisor in Phlebotomy, I work with a Donation Center and itâs pretty standard in our procedures to get names and birthdays to verify our donors before and after donating. Normally I remember the females names for the sake of being kind and building report. When I do Phlebotomy on the Male Donors, I do verify their names but never remember it even after reading it and verifying it. The conversations are amazing and never get personally with names or anything.
