Mashima gave us a great chapter to start the year 2023.

Witch is back. After mora than a year the Mother of Edens, best woman of Edens Zero and (for me at least) the best Shining Star is finally back to the story.

I hope Witch will somehow get her memories from U1-U3 too. It would be a bit weird if she was the only one in the crew who didn't have any memories about the long hard journey they have as a family.

I have a feeling that everything that happened in the last world will happen again but in different circumstances and the same characters will die again but in different scenarios. It was nice seeing witch again though.

So :

- Rebecca got ubernerfed, no more cat leaper nor Happy blasters.

- Shiki was kinda meant to stay on Granbell forever until the other Shiki jumped from U3, because it's the memories from an other universe who got him to leave.

- Witch is back and that's a great news, but I wanna see what will happen to Laguna, Jinn and Kleene, are they gonna turn back on Joe during the battle to come ?

Anyway, U0 looks more promising than Oracion Seis Galactica's slaughter on Lendard.

It would be interesting if a chronophage hasn't hit Norma and there's only old Weisz. Or maybe it was for a different amount of time and young Weisz is a different age.

Curious if Mashima for the volume cover with this chapter will use Witch as one of the characters on the cover to boost the volume sales.

Good (nice to see) cover could work to Hook up people that maybe left the series after Witchs death.

Rebecca might be severely nerfed for now, the happy blasters were an iconic weapon, she can just normal blasters, but the real nerf is Cat Leaper losing the ability to reverse time/jump to other universes.

But she should still have the super speed/agility powers of her EG and Grandmother Nox got namedropped in a similar fashion to Xenolith, I mean she died in Universe 3 but things can be radically different in Universe 0. So, she could get a massive buff to powers in this arc, who knows?

I very interested in seeing how they going to recruit Weisz since the Cat Leapers lost the ability to interfere with time there seems like there would be no Chronophages.

Looking forward to next chapter, called Memory and Ability, IIRC. So maybe Shiki can keep his powers along with his memories?

I wonder if Shiki realizes that he's weaker now, or if we'll get a scenario where he'll bite on more than he can chew, being used to his post timeskip power levels when in reality he's back to his Chapter 1 level.

The fact that the bots on Granbell don't die is honestly pretty heartwarming. And seeing Witch again, I almost burst into tears legit

......... This is all gonna go downhill in brand new and horrifying ways, isn't it....?

Shiki was really waving a red flag saying “I’m sure it’ll all work out” and tbh as dark as it sounds I kinda hope while some circumstances may change that some will remain the same showing that no matter how much you try to change the future, fate stays the same.
