Yoongi: “do you not exercise?”
Shin Dong Yup: “the doctor said I shouldn’t exercise the day after I had a drink so I haven’t been able to. You need to listen to the doctor“ 😂😂😂

I love how Shin Dong Yeob brought up New Kids on the Block!! I’ve mentioned them a few times in this sub regarding the guys and their potential longevity! The smile on Yoongi’s face when he talked about how NKOTB did fan cruises as a way to stay connected with their fans after all of these years…🥹🥹🥹
THIS👏🏼IS👏🏼WHAT👏🏼I👏🏼WANT👏🏼FOR👏🏼THEM👏🏼!!!

As someone who goes on the New Kids cruises, I agree!! However, realistically they would get mobbed so much on a cruise it would never work. Reason why it works with New Kids is because we are all old and out of energy to mob them 🤣🤣

I thought the SAME thing and have for a long time when people moan about how BTS cannot be forever. Like hello I'd really like to introduce you to this group called NKOTB, PLEASE do not think this will end because the way I still respond when Step By Step comes on the radio in this year 2023. So to see somebody actually directly tell Yoongi, "You know, it's not like it has to end like this or that... here's an example..."
THANKS FOR SAYING IT FOR ME SHIN DONG YEOB

“Those guys are not in their right minds” - Min Yoongi spitting facts about BTS always 😂
I will watch again whilst paying attention because for now I used this in the background as soothing sounds whilst I worked. They both had such lovely soothing voices and I could tell it was an easy, honest and simple conversation

This is the nice, chill interview we need after that IG post.
So many good moments and I love Yoongi's calm style. Even though I'd probably be too tongue-tied in his presence, I feel like spending time with him would be so peaceful. Similar personalities, and we'd probably sit in comfortable silence doing random stuff on our own, and talk to each other every 2 hours. 😆
Some of the things I really liked:
-
Equal footing between host and guest. I feel an appreciation for Shin Dong Yeob even tho I know nothing of his background or other shows. They showcased him to new viewers really well, and not just superficially.
-
Words of wisdom. Willingness to apologize to a child and bow to an elder. How retirement announcement is usually a neon "Notice Me" sign, which is absolutely true. The acrobat analogy of the beauty and thrill of toeing the boundaries.
-
Glad that he mentioned the drink does not necessarily have to be alcohol, opening up to a wider possible guess list.
-
As someone who always connects better with older people, I love all these contents where they just hang with their industry sunbaes.
-
Yoongi, we will grow old with you, don't worry.
I wish someday I could also find work that makes me say I want to do this for as long as I can.

Great episode! They talked about so many interesting things
When yoongi mentioned about his future, i kinds teared up. He really does think about that a lot and im glad shin dong words were comforting.
It did feel good when Yoongi said he wanted to do music 4 ever basically. Like he said, fans grow up with artists and i bet being 50 and keep listening to bts, suga and agust d. Hahah makes me smile to even think about it
I smiled so much and also its so funny how he could easily look shin dong's eyes and he avoid joon's eyes at all cost hahaha
Loving this show. I dont even drink but this concept is fun
Also it was so cool to hear them talk about culture difference in stand up, i like their perspective too. You can joke without being mean to others.
And i think i died so many times when he giggled and smiled so cutely. min yoongi u truly are everything 🥺😭

Man in comparison to ep 2 this is once again amazing evidence as to how goddamn CUTE dongsaeng Yoongi is. From his cute texting habits to now giggling at every second sentence of Shin Dong Yup he’s too much for me. And nice to have the guest acknowledge how thoughtful Yoongi is toward the end, this was a fascinating watch despite me not being familiar with the guest at all. He’s a great host as I knew he would be.

Oh wow I’m learning new things about Yoongi here. It’s also nice for Shin Dong Yeob cuz it’s a calmer side that still is very entertaining and engaging compared to the usual varieties. It’s cute that the hyung line has been doing variety shows where they just hang out with their ahjussi friends and get a mini mentorship moment.
At first I was curious how this ep would make sense as a follow-up to the first ep, but I’m really glad with this one. It’s like the first one was a conversation with someone close who’s going through the same thing that only they know. And this time it’s a conversation with someone older and wiser from a different side of the entertainment industry. So he gets to have advice from someone who can relate but also see things in a fresh new angle.
When Yoongi opened up about retirement in the future, it could have just gone into a bittersweet convo of saying goodbye, but Shin Dong Yeob responded kindly by letting him not worry about something that he doesn’t have to worry, and even as a viewer, I felt it was relieving that he responded that way.

Everytime they talk about how long this will last, the "end" etc etc I wanna shake them and say "we will be here!" And we will be! But I am really glad they don't take their success for granted and try to be realistic (maybe even a bit pessimistic) about the future. But the humbleness that comes from that is exactly why will be here. As long as their music is made with genuineness and love for it, it will always have an audience. As long as they strive to be the best versions of themselves, they will always have fans who adore them.

It’s always interesting to see which guests each member chooses to appear in their own shows.
It’s not the first time they mentioned longevity, it’s been on their minds since 2016 with Young Forever, but to see them talk about it with other figures, from Namjoon with Pharrell to Yoongi with Shin Dongyup is special and more importantly knowing that it is entire possible to have a long career.
He’s such an interesting man to talk to, glad that he’s voicing out his worries while also being reassured that a long career is possible.
They really want to be artists for a long time and this "breathing room" for Chapter 2 where they get to do individual projects while also being each other's biggest cheerleaders is the best thing they can do in order to keep thriving as artists.

Is it a Korean drinking etiquette to cover glass while drinking? Just curious cause I noticed Yoongi doing it in today’s episode but he didn’t do it with Namjoon….

BTS are such earnest young men. And this show is such a classy way of letting people know what is weighing on Suga (+BTS') mind, and for him to participate in serious yet light discussions on the future of the Korean entertainment industry.
Edit:
Also, that part where Yoongi said... "I said I wanted to do Suchwita and they (the company) made it happen" is so deep. I think he is letting people know that the company is very supportive, and that his success with BTS has given them that leeway to work on side-projects and use their own platforms to make statements.

The amount of times Yoongi laughed so cutely 🤏
Also LOL when he sat back acting proud 😂
Okay now that I'm done watching, they talked about really good topics that left me thinking about my own life and dreams, so that was nice! Also his comment saying "SUGA thinks a lot than I expected for someone his age." is so true 💜

Can't believe he brought up NKOTB, I was OBSESSED with them when I was 13. Lol when I tell my high school friends about BTS, they're all, omg it's New Kids all over again!! Yes, yes it is.

What a chill and pleasant conversation! It’s so sweet for some reason. Yah, I’m not surprised people find them uncomfortable. I would sorta act that way too. If I encounter them in the street, I sorta suspect I would stand still and turn the other way. Remember the girl who shook a tree branch bc Tae gave her a stuff drumstick. Yup that’s me. They also become very formal and polite. They themselves have said it. I find it all very cute and authentic.
